Leave it for now. once you get use to it then look into other mods. Never jump and start modding a new machine. You could wast money and accomplish nothing.

I have not noticed any difference at all on trails. On areas where you can really open it up it is nice to have. But again, I think you should ride with what you have for now. I use to want a six speed on everything. Now that I have ridden some differnt configuations, I only want one on one mabey two of my machines.

I think they are good machines.

yeah they are great machines, nothing really bad about them except that they are a bit more prone to tipping than the 250Rs.

yea right on what is the top speed on them when they are stock 60 miles?

I always thought it was the other way around. I guess it is just what you are use to.

I always felt very comfortable on my tri-z. I have all the big sports trikes, but the tri-z gets all the looks and stares on the trail. Although the tecate hasnt been brought out to the trails yet.:naughty: My ported tri-z was the fastest trike of the three - would hit real hard in powerband. Its all in how the cylinder is prepped/ported. My stock 250r with high comp head and pipe feels tame in comparison.

My only issues with the tri-z - is/was maintenance and upkeep every ride. They spit out bolts often. I wrench on my R a fraction of what the tri-z needed.

Oh and my experience with 6 speeds are that they are great for long stretches, but in trails i shift a hell of alot more with a six speed then a 5 speed.

ok cool so i should try n do maintenance checks everytime i go for a ride?

for 1600.00 do you think its worth it? i mean there is alot of extra parts so i think i did good

You did fine. Price is always subjective to area, availability and demand. You got a rare pipe there and better shock, so you are ahead of the game. Yami shocks are prone to failure.

Believe me, you will be selling your 4 strokes once you get used that tri-z. Just watch the motor mounts and pipe bolts- those were the ones that spit out often - locktight and lock washers will help you out. No counterbalancer on that Z.

Lets see some pics.

You know, Ronnies got the right idea Brrcuda, which is silicon. I used gobs and gobs of locktite on my Z, then finally decided to try silicon the last time it went together. With the loctite, Ive thrown every bolt imaginable. The only bolt Ive thrown with everthing siliconed was the airbox bolt, which didnt get siliconed to begin with. Ive put well over 100 miles after the last rebuild, so far so good.

Good find there, I think you'll be happy with the bike. One major bolt to watch is the swingarm bolt. Once it gets just a little loose, you can watch it spin out!

You know, I was waiting for some one to say something like that.

Yeah, the bolt problem is annoying. I try not to use locktight that much, but with the Z's a little drop is a god thing.

I agree that a six spedd is not a good thing on the trails. Not an a Z any way. Leave it a five speed and get it turned in for your riding and it will do you right.

Geez.... I tightened all my Honda bolts 4 years ago and the only one that came loose was that big one on top of the gas tank.... I forget what it's called....I think one on the motor side case came loose too so I put some oil in it. Must've done the right thing cause it's still runnin......
