how did you get your Z registered? I hear its not too hard, but how exactly did you do it?

First off do you have either a title or registration card from the last owner? If not you'll need to take a piece of paper and lay it on the frame over the vin and do a tracing of it. Take a few copies if they don't come out that well. My vin wasn't stamped into the frame well so they didn't come out that clear. After this you'll need to fill out the following forms from the dmv: MV-51B, MV-51, and MV-82.
