I’m still trying to get my shop put together and thought I do something to clean it up, or at least find the floor. I have crap everywhere in my shop so I decided to buy 2 sets of pallet racks. I thought I could use them to put my toys on and clear up some floor space. They weren’t cheap but they sure are nice. Each one is 10’ long and 10’ high. I need to buy 2 more for the other wall for some of my other toys. (What I should have done is went to Home Depot to ask if they had any used ones that they wanted to sell) They have wire decks and are rated for 4,400 lbs. per shelve.

What do you guys think?

Very very very nice. Looks AWESOME! I like it alot, but how do you get the units up and down? Do you have a fork truck or something?

I have a shelf unit that currently holds 6 or 7 little guys (110s, 70s, Zingers), but it is only one level high and I can use my truck ramps to push my trikes up and down from them.

I was thinking of something similar in my garage but much smaller.

Nice rare trikes you got there.

I like it alot...Wish home depot had those on their racks to purchase with the home depot credit card!!!!!!!!!!.I bought a bunch of old home depot racks at a flea market a few years back $1.00 each beam and 20.00 each end .....not as high as those but you could stack by bolting them.

Big Bore, what is that trike on the 2nd shelf to the right? It looks like an aftermarket 185 frame, with an xr200 engine? Id like to get some info on that :)

I used my Bobcat with pallet forks on them. I made a pallet long enough and wide enough to put the 3 wheeler on and lift it up to the rack and slide onto the rack. They rack really work awesome. Only took and hour to set up. Reminds me of a Hot Wheels car carrier or something.

Top shelf center and right: are the Franks 3 wheeler and 4 wheeler I bought 6 months ago. Center shelf right: is my Nicholson 500X. Its the one I bought in December. There some more photo's of it here search: Nicholson

When I get the other shelves up I'll show you guys some of my other 3 wheelers;) .

Nice set up BigBore , and the trophy trike{franks} really looks nice up there. I've had to do a same set up in my two small storage buildings just to make room for all the trikes. I Have to build a bigger building in the future.

Looks awsome, I was thinking of doing something similiar when I build my workshop (shed). Some type of overhead storage or stacking to save space.
Did you bolt the pallet rack shelving to the wall. It might sound stupid, thats untill an earthquake hits. If I remember right, there is also a plate of steel on the bottom of each vertical bean* where you can bolt it to the floor. Cheap insurance.

*(edit: haha, I meant BEAM)

FYI.. sometimes you can go to your local walmart and ask the manager if they have some "green steel" lying around out back that their not using or going to throw out. I know this because when I used to work there I hadda help load the guys truck up with it. Never thought about using it for trikes though. pretty cool!

If you guys live near an industrial park, you may want to do a Sunday Search mission..... Behind most huge warehouses are lots of racks that aren't being used or they got hit and tweaked with a fork lift or high lifts and they throw them away.

I know we had piles upon piles at my last job just rotting away....
