83 200e

I have a 83 200E and have the engine apart to put in a new second gear that I had bought. I would like more performance out of it for pulling stuff and some more speed. I seen some 12:1 Pistons for this machine on a site. I was wondering if I need race gas with this setup? Will the motor hold up with this piston? Is there much of a power increase? Does the motor run alot hotter?
