wanted to share a recent mishap. i was recently riding my kx500 out here in hawaii on mountainous dirt roads. i had all my gear on as always. a tractor w boxblade had recently scraped the dirt road leaving small pebbles on the surface. i was riding down a hill and had forgot about a hairpin corner, as i braked the tires just locked not slowing the beast down at all. i tried to make the corner but went off a bridge landing head and arm first onto jagged boulders. now i have a steel left arm and i had broken my back as well. i will not be able to work for months and spend my day in rehab for my arm. but realize w/o that helmet and chest protector i would not be here to type this, wear your gear at all times!! i have vids of me riding my little klt 185 w no gear and realize now just how risky it is. wear your gear and live to ride, when your riding your living everything else is just waiting.

I was thinking of a KXT500 conversion, because he said when he hit the brakes the TIRE'S (plural) locked up.

A steel arm, like the bionic man?? Or did you mean a steel plate... No joke intended just wondered what happened to your arm.
Anyhow, glad your OK and glad you posted this. I try so hard to always wear my gear even if it's for just a lap or 2 around the MX track. You just never know and it happens SOOOOOO fast.
I hope you have a speedy recovery and get back on your machine again soon.
