how can i tell?

my buddies brother wants to sell me a 3 wheeler. i know its a Honda 185, but how can i find out what year it is? i cant find a date anywhere on it. it is a strait frame no shocks, round headlight, so im guessing its an early 80's. it runs good, needs a little tlc, but he just wants rid of it, so i think i can get it for very very cheap :D any help would be helpful, thanks.

sounds like an 81 or 82. look on the front of the frame where the steering stem goes.

it's not an 82 it's an 81 or earlier.

does it have 25" tires or 22"? the 1980 had 25" i think. the 80 had a round headlight i know that much. i think this is the one.

it definatly has a round headlight.

has to be an 83 if it has a round headlight, and is not an 82 or earlier. the 84's and up had a rectangle light.
