I was wondering if anyone knows how to time a Honda 185s or 200s engine (1982). I have worked on Yamaha engines before, but thier totally diffrent, and I'm new to Honda trike engines. I understand you must line up the cam chain and sprocket just right, but how do I tell if its in time? What else do I have to set on it? I heard theres something on the lower part of the engine that has to be set in time exactly as the cam chain does. I don't own an owners manual either, so some diagrams and a good explination would be great help to me. If anyone can help in any way, let me know. Thanx again.

On my SX there's a timing mark you have to line up in the bottom end. You can see it by taking off a cap screw. Then on the top you have to line up the 2 marks on the cam gear with the top of the head with the cam lobes facing down. I think its a lot easier with 2 people, one to hold the bottom in time and one to do the top.

Thanx man. I managed to get my hands on a TRX 200 repair manual the other day. The engines are pretty much the same, and I will be using that for help as well. Hopefully I can get this thing running in a couple days.
