I was looiing through the October issue of ATV SPORT and found this on the last page. Phot's from our own Mike Davis of Motolenzphotos. www.motolenzphotos.com I remember Mike saying he was going to do a write up on Trikefest 07. I thought it would be more than the [parting shot but at least it's some exposure.

Shows in the first pic Garageboy and "KAMIKAZEE" Mark Kazee batteling it out and a close up of Mark in the second pic. The third pic is the story.

Way to go guys.:w00t:

This would be a hard task. The conversion was very fast. Hopfully Billy, Raffa or Jason Hall will give the guy some competition in 08.

thats where there needs to be an exibitsion class,,, for non trike based machines,,, i know i woud be pissed if i worked all year to build a racer for an event and someone throws a swinger on a motorcycle and wins it all,,,

Well Raffa will be leading the drags for 08. It's his call. I look forward to seeing the Drags develop to the next level. The only problem I see with the exhibiton class is that alot of conversions would be eliminated from the regular classes. Example, Billy's 500r is a dirt bike with three wheels. Dale's conversion with a smowmobile motor, and several others.

just an idea. Why not create a 600cc and up class.
there is not a lot of off road machine with a engine bigger than 600cc that you want to put in a drag trike. That way, superbike based trike are dont compete against a cr 500 conversion. But again someone will show off with a 500 cc superbike engine...

Really don't want this to turn to a "how to do the drags thread". I'm sure that will come in time. Just give props to the site and the guys in the pics for making the mag.

The Magazine article is NOT accurate -

#1 - it says Mark Kazee built the machine for the Trikefest Event - not true - he regularly ran it a other strips before TF.

#2 - it says he "scorched" Garageboy - also not true - yes, it is true he beat him by a few bike lengths - but I would not consider that a "scorching" - I think Garageboy did awesome against that 150HP sport-trike.

I vision TF 09. Tony Schumacher and Larry Dixon shows up each with a single front tire top fuel dragster. Poor little 900r!!!
Really need to nip this before it gets out of hands. With my knowledge and experience of compeition and the rules that govern racing back in the day, (need to fine my 1986 AMA handbook to back this), Dirt bike engines up to 500cc, in a trike frame, were allowed in the modified class. Staying with trike tradition, we should limit the open class to the same rules. If it is bore/stroke more then that it could be address later.
Have a monster class (like mx) for what ever else shows up.
I was not please with a non true trike winnng the event, It made me sad seeing all the true trikes playing second fiddle. I'm not a big fan of drags in general, but I will support it at trike fest.

I thought the same thing about both statements as well. Congrats that they got in there but the facts dont seem to be 100% accurate :beer
