Simply out of curiosity, where would one look to try and find a 4 wheel conversion for, say, an '84 ATC250R? Is there any chance of someone still manufacturing them, or is Ebay the only hope? Anyone have any info?

you would be looking for an astro kit and as far as I know you would have to find a used one.

Why? It is a lot cheaper and easier just to buy a quad. Why ruin a trike for nothing?

If you want an under-powered,over-weight, poor handling, ugly, air-cooled quad just buy a blaster.... 3-4wheel conversions served a purpose in the past... but today with 20 years worth of used quads floating around its just a plain waste of time... If you insist on a having a project at all times(like me) consider putting your engine, exhaust, rear suspension/axle into a 250x/300ex chassis... you could most likely buy a frame, plastic, and 400ex front suspension for less than the price of an ugly, weird ergoed, poorly suspended astro kit... either way you are welding... may as well end up with something ridable...

Heh, okay never mind. I heard the kits run almost 1200$. That's a lot of money to spend on ruining a trike. I just thought it would be a good way to get the local MX tracks let me run the ATC on them.
Just for curiosity sake, anyone have pictures of converted trikes? I want to see just how ugly these things are.

no offence but if u convert a trike your an *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited*-H0l3 !!
If I rememeber corectly, TTR wanted to do whatever he wanted to do with his trikes and everyone backed him.If this member wants to make a quad conversion that is his choice.I dont think he should be called names!!!!!!!!!! I myself started to build a converted 350x.For the same reason he said. The local riding area does not permit ATC' on there land.So I wanted to throw a converted 350x together just to rip around and show them all up!!.
Everyone is entitled to do WHATEVER they want,It is there choice!!!!!!
So TTR you might want to go and revise that post of yours.

hey, yes the astro kits were $1200 or more. and no, no one markets anything now. you can get custom frames built, but you may spend more than a good used quad. If you really want a 2cycle quad, buy a 250x/300ex roller and change it over. spend more and do a 400ex. one-off atv's are cool if they run nice.
