My question is, is that skid plate under the fuel tank factory? I have the tabs under my tail light that probably go to one, but I've never seen one before... Was there also a skid plate under the engine?

Yes it is, but they painted it yellow instead of black. There is a bracket that went underneath the engine to help protect it, but it really was more of a piece tubing to prevent large rocks from puncturing the cases. You can probably make your own.

I got a few of them engine protectors if ya need one..
the tank protector you really dont need to run as long as its bolted to the bracket in the back and in front... the shape of the tank was well thought out and tucks in verry nicely when bottomed out.. I bottomed out before so hard that the sprocket hit the tank and missed the cover.. them tanks are THICK and durable.. verry nice design in that aspect
