Timing question

When the h or t or whatever letter it is on the crank is facing up, should the timing mark on the timing gear be pointing up or down?

There are 2 marks on the rotor (crank), line the "T" up. Then the mark on the gear should be pointing up, there is a spot on the head that the gear mark lines up with.
