Hi Chaps, had a quick search around the forum but can't find an answer to this.
My ATC70 is a bit of a 'cut n shut' basket case. It has the engine from a Honda Cub 90 in it with CDI Ignition.
The problem is no spark. Now, I don't really understand CDI ignition so I changed the plug and remade and soldered all the transplanted wiring connections with no luck. If I disconnect the low tension lead from the coil, then apply 12v from a slave battery as neg to ground and touch the pos to the LT side of the coil then I get a weak spark at the plug. This says to me that the coil is ok and the fault is somewhere else. I've no idea how to test the cdi box, but if I put a multimeter across the pulse wires from the casing should it read volts, amps or ohms, and if it is a measurable value, how much?
Any help would be much appreciated.
