82 185 recoil interchange?

I picked up a 82 185 yesterday. looks like the main thing missing is the recoil. (pull starter). can anyone tell me what other years interchange with this thing? its got the decompression lever, so Im wondering if I need the cable for that too? I saw one on ebay for a 84 200s will that work? thanks jim

You can get a recoil with the decompression option, or without. Their not that hard to start without the decompression.

I personally know that the 82-84 will interchange (200s, 200, 185, ect....), dont know about anymore though.

185,185s,200, and 200s. the only issue you may have is the decompression plates may or mat not be thicker than the others. i learned this the hard way. my recoil kept breaking and jamming because it wasnt spaced rite. easy fix though just cut out 2 or 3 gaskets and it will work.
