well i wanted to paint it but what should i do first...if i take the line off is it going to loose the oil and gas...thx :wondering

you can try to stick rags or paper between the shock and spring, but you wont be able to paint the inside of the spring, and you might get some over spray.

it's not expensive to have it recharged,and fresh oil.like 75 bux

ummm...I don't know what bike you are refferring to, but as far as I know, springs are removable from the shocks without removing any of the hose or pressurized components. Have done this before on my 250r.

I don't think any paint will last very long if you plan on jumping or doing any hard riding. Maybe look into one of of those rubber dips?

Regular paint will work fine. Powder coating will work better. After all, it's not like the spring is going to compress & crack all the paint off.

I say a good quality primer and auto paint or powdercoating.

loosen up both top spring adjuster nuts all the way.. the spring will become verry loose.. push the spring up and remove the bottom retainer..it has a groove in it to slide off the shaft.. then the spring will slide off the bottom
