I've been considering getting a 350x and have heard (like many 4-strokes) on how hard they can be to start when hot, anybody ever put a hot start on it? How did that work out? Thanks for any input

The hotstart is all in the carb. I happen to have one on the BIG carb thats on my X. I NEVER use it. Just get your jetting dialed in and kick it, They start easy. Only certain carbs off of 250f's and 450's have the hot start and all it does is lean the engine out. Basicaly its a reverse choke.

The guy I got my new 350x from told me it does this also. So what's the theory on the proper jetting fix for it? Richer or leaner on the pilot?

Dammit what type of carb are you using?

Stock. I assume stock jetting. I haven't opened it up yet. Starts easy with no choke when cold (well, as could as something can get here right now anyway).

So the bike is all stock?? You probably need to drop the jetting down 1 size with all that buildup and worn out engine it probably dosent need that much fuel. I would check the valves most hard starting engines just need the valves adjusted.

As far as I know the only mods are the supertrapp slip-on and a Uni filter.

Try, a 142 main 42 pilot, and move your clip up one notch. (drop the needle) Every bike is going to be diffrent but that should be extremely close.
