The left side nut on the axle is stripped out I managed to get it off and the threads on the axles need to be fixed. The axles isnt bent and the splinds are still good so I dont want to have to replace it. If I ran a die down the threads would that fix them? and If so what size do I need? If the right size wont fix it can I go one size smaller?

Thanks,

Ron

I would use a thread file. Then run a tap over it if you want.

what axle is this for?? 85-89 250r/85-86 350x are 20mm 1.5 pitch, most other honda axles are 18mm 1.5 pitch.

Thread file? I'm going to have to look into that. Where can I get something like that? Is it common for the axle nuts to get stripped out like that or is it just the guy didnt make sure they were tight?

Sorry I'm talking about my 86 350x I should of said that.

I got mine from Snap on...they don't cost that much(under $30 I think). How bad are the threads.

The first half are in bad shape but the second half still look good. The nut took the worst of it I want to get this taken care of before it ends up costing me a new axle. I think if I run a die down them it will be ok.
