the only problem bolts there were on my bigred (as far as platics, carb rack and stuff goes) was my right fender when the bolt stripped (still on there) and when the rear rack bolt froze, i tried getting it off with soo much force the bolt snapped, and then there are those bolts that are so damn hard to get to.

haha i know what you mean. Putting the headers back on the 350x and snapped one of the studs right off. A couple hours later and a broken left hand drill bit and it was out and ready to rock and roll :TrikesOwn

I usually go in to repiar one thing, then find a few more. Then before you know it the whole damn thing is torn down and the frame is off to powder coat.

Seems like I'll usually breeze through something that should be hard to do, then get hung up on something retarded at the very end.

I always get to the very end and then notice the bolt over on the edge of the table that was supposed to go in first, then have to tear it all the way back down and give it another go. I usually end up doing most jobs atleast twice before its overwith. Like my boss is always saying "Be prepared to take the time to do it right, or be prepared to make the time to do it twice".

I know what you mean Dog, I hate when that happens. Isnt it the norm, you go to fix one thing and you find other things on the way.

That drive me crazy. I o nuts when I cannot find a tool I just used. it gets real hard to get a job done when my two year old is side "helping" me. He runs off with tools and parts all the time. Sometimes i find them a week later on the opposite side of the yard.

Dammit!

I had a German Shepard that would actually fetch tools that I'd throw across the driveway when I got ticked off. First time she did it I about died laughing. I was probably 16 or so, working on the 200x, got aggrivated and threw a hammer out the garage door into the driveway. I sat down on a milk crate next to the trike with my head in my hands trying to calm my nerves, looked up after a second and there she was sitting directly in front of me, hammer in mouth and tail wagging. Needless to say it cheered me up. Gotta love dogs.

I need a tool fetcher. I have gotten so angry I threw my floor jack into the middle of the yard.

Wish my dog did that - my dog is always dragging bolts off. I am in the middle of tearing something apart - sit the bolts at my feet - turn around for 5 seconds and they are gone. I normally fined them in the driveway a day or two later!

Working on these old machines is like working on anything old - dealing with rust and other people's cob-jobs it the worst. If people don't know what they are doing - they should leave it be.

The other thing that really fries my eggs is welder happy people. - Hub is loose - weld it on. Shifter splines stripped - weld it on - it makes fixing it properly 10 times harder than it should be.

I am guess I am the minority on this one. I just tore down one of my R's for resto and it took me 4.5 hours to get to bare frame, not a stripped or frozen bolt, even the swingarm bolt came out with minimal effort. After working on other toys (my sig) these trikes are a piece of cake.

A tool fetcher...that's a great idea. I have a young golden retriever that compulsively has to have something in her mouth at all times. That would be a good job for her! I don't know if she could handle the floor jack, so I'll resist that particular urge.

Like ATCTIM said, it's dealing with other people's "creative repairs" that makes me want to hurl large objects into the driveway. You have to figure out what they were thinking so you can figure out how to fix it, or start from scractch and do it over. Wiring is my biggest pet peeve. I hate non-stock wiring jobs! Those are the most likely thing to make me say ARRRRRGGGH!

hahaha, i do the same thing when im mad, but no one fetches my tools, i have to walk down my driveway looking for them, sometimes my brother watches from the window and bets with my dad about how far it will go

The only thing I ever figure out is how stupid the previous owner was.

or rather - how smart he was for selling it to me!

I can not beleive sme one would actually ride with some of the "repairs" I have come across. This is why I just go ahead and tear a machine down and put its parts in inventory most of the time.

Speaking of the tool fetching dog...

I was down in my shop working on one of my vehicles, when a stray dog wandered in the garage door.

He seemed friendly. I had a screwdriver, a phillips (which are hard to come by in my shop), laying there on the ground. He picked it up in his mouth and looked at us, wagging his tail.

"Hah hah! Look at him!". We all laugh at the cute dog. Then he turns around, and runs away to wherever he came from.

I never saw that screwdriver again. =/
