Well I finaly got in some of my parts to bring this 350x to life. The carb needs to be cleaned real good. I did a half ass job just to see if she will run and she fired right up. :Bounce
Ok now to my question. I noticed that the baffle that sits on the main jet isnt there. Is this going to be a problem?? Also does any one know where to get a carb kit besides ebay?
Man kicking this beast over isnt nothing like my banshee used to be, this 350 you really have to stand on it to kick it over. I dont have the decompression cable to help, not yet anyways.
Thanks,
Ron
One more thing. What kind of oil should I use? 10-40? and does it have to be for a wet clutch?

Make sure you blow out the carb with a good amount of compressed air. The plastic baffel you mention is for the float. You need this on there so your float does not mess up while it lets in fuel. The link below is for a rebuild kit for your carb. These are quality rebuild kits. Iv used almost a dozen.

All 350x's are mean sob's when they kick back, always wear shoes. The trick to starting them is kick the engine slow till it goes through half the motions until it gets to the compression stroke. The kicker will get hard, then kick slowly half way. When when it starts to push easy just before halfway on the kick motion, kick that sucker hard while going through the motion. Its a technique that must me learned while owning a 350x. DO NOT hold the throttle wide open while kicking or it will kick back and hurt your foot real bad.
Thanks you for the advise I will kick it like you said. The other atc's that I have owned were nothing like this. I had a 185's, 200, and a 200x years ago and if I remember correctly they were all pull starts.
I see that the rebuild kit doesnt come with that baffle. Do you know where I can get one at?

Mine was missing too. Instead of a rebuild kit, I ordered that plastic baffle, a carb gasket kit, and jets from Honda. (I was going larger than stock jets)

That plastic baffle dosent do a thing, I dont have them on any carb i have on ANY bike. Its just another piece to loose.
If your bike is jetted properly it wont kick back on you. Even with the throttle wide open so PINKERCHOOK you better check your jetting. Also pinkerchook/liquid darkness, why did you hang up on my buddy eric the other day?? You didnt want to buy his 350x you didnt have to just hang up you could have at least said bye.
