New billet 250r pegs

Just made some new pegs for one of my bikes since the originals were pretty dull. Im going to atleast polish them, maybee have them chromed, not sure yet.

Very nice indeed! Personally, I would have made them wider, to make them a little more comfortable on the feet.

I seen them, what stopped me from getting them is that they aren't for mx or jumping. I think I saw them in JL ATV.

I think it was like 7 or 8 bucks worth of material. They took about 4 hrs to make. ANd no i wouldnt want to use these for any jumping, these are going on my 500 that i generally just ride in fields, ice or dirt roads. Ill see how these work out, maybe i will try making another pair that is wider like red rider said. Now that you mention it, a wide peg with a row of teeth in the middle of the peg would be a nice platform.

Sorry guys, im not going to make any for sale, they are aluminum and will break way before a stock steel one will. Just trying to look out for everyone, dont want to make anyone be the guinea pig.

if you made the whole thing (without welding) out of aluminum, i don't think there is any chance of them breaking under any riding situations. as a matter of fact there are quite a few companies that make billet pegs. i even doubt that welded ones are any weaker.

Yes I believe I have seen some pics. The problem I see with those is they are one piece. I'd like something that moves bends back like most stockers)incase you hit a rock they wouldn't be smashed.

Edit: I just realized these are one piece as well. Looks good though! :beer

I like the teeth. the old pegs with the rounded teeth are pretty dangerous if you ask me. I have been wondering what to do about it - hence my reading this thread.

Take a grinder to your stock pegs, you won't have any slippage issues then.

I thought about making them spring loaded, but decided against it, i think the pin will wear out quickly in the aluminum, as far as strength goes, im sticking with my guns on this one, there is no way they are as strong as stock steel pegs. Ive been toying with the idea of making them out of stainless and making them spring loaded, that would be really strong and wont wear nearly as fast. Only trouble is this, it SUCKS to machine!

i do know one thing...the teeth will ware about 18 million times faster then steel.

thats how my pro pegs are so i wraped them with 1/16 plate and put teeth on the steel.

I was thinkin the same on the teeth wear, only time will tell how long they will last before i have to touch them up again.
