:w00t: Today I bought my first ATC70 for $90! Its a 1984. All the tires are flat and it hasnt run in a few years. And there is no pull start assembly. So my dad cleaned the carb and grabed an old pull rope and it started on second pull.
Is there anything I should know about these?
I need a couple parts...... I need the recoil starter and the tires.
I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Welcome to the 70 Craze!!!!!! Recoils do bring some money but youy can find them on eBay and sometimes on here. Post a wanted ad. If it runs thats half the battle, they are know for points going out, but you do not have this prob.

Yeah, welcome to the 70's craze! Love mine. Tons of stuff you can do to em. Check out www.dratv.com , they have about everything you could ever need for one.
Give it a good once over, check the airbox to carb boot, sometimes they rot and don't seal good. Check and clean the screen/filter behind the petcock, it comes off with the 2 phillips screws.
Good luck!

Welcome to the dark side of 3 wheeling. Beware of friends drinking beer and riding your 70! Have fun. Keep the oil changed, make sure you have good wheel bearings and keep the clutches adjusted. You'll have lots of fun and probably end up getting another. And 2 70's usually make a good grudge race, ha ha ha.

Yeah keep the rear axle bearings in good shape as well. Mine went out in 2 days of riding.
Also, you'll be wanting to hop it up soon. Stick a Lifan 138 with a manual clutch in that little beast!

Oh , if you need a recoil, get one from a 79-85 ATC70. The 73/74 and the Fourtrax 70 can fit with some work but its not worth it.

Does the ATC70 and the Fourtrax 70 interchange parts?

I got 3 brand new tires, and my recoil start for $13 bucks plus s/h. I painted the rims and hubs. And I think it looks pretty cool.

Looks good! So have you been tearing up the lawn with it? I think I rode my last 70 more then my full sized trikes.

Yeah I was all over the lawn with it. Its easier to move around and take places than taking the bigger ones.
