pull your wiring shematic from the home page and see what you missed.

try cleaning all the connections on the coil, cdi and battery(if installed). that is all i had to do to get mine sparking.

it is a signal - trace it back to origination. test it and see where it drops. what are you working on? did you rebuild it?
is this related?:

Be patient and check and re-check everything with the wiring diagrams, clean your grounds up with sandpaper and make sure you didnt break any wires during the removal-instalation. Oh and try changing your plug, is it the old one from when that motor was smoking, may be fouled.

rust on the pulser or flywheel? pull the cover off the pulser on the side of the head and crank it over to ake sure its turning.

post some pictures.. alot of us would know if we could look at it

timed or not - if everything else works it will spark. its just a mater of when it sparks = time. good idea about the rust eric...

manuals are good... you can download one from

did you see if the coil wire to the plug was good ? meaning is it in the coil tight? also is the part that goes to the plug tight ? is there any cracks in the wire ? as said before we need pictures.

Online manuals are OK but a real manual(like a booK) does wonders when you are out in the garage and you can just flip to the page and BAM there you go. Manuals cost so little. Just buy one and all your troubles will either go away, or you will be able to deduct a final solution to your problem...

I had the same problem with a Big Red and I finally found the problem. The wire in the kill switch got crimped and wore through. You might want to check this.
