I've been buying the OEM Honda filter, but I hear a FRAM filter fits?
Anyone know the number for an ATC 250SX?
Thanks!

I don't know the number but I do know that it's the same as the 250es, 350x, and lot's of other Honda atv's.
I personally use emgo in my machines.
Hope that helps.

fram is the cheapest POS filter made. look up any oil filter test on the internet and fram is always in last place.

Dennis Kirk has them for $2.99 each. here is a link:
http://www.denniskirk.com/powervendor/details/detail.asp?serverid=OffRoad&PartNo=301759
I have them also but I can't compete too well with dennis kirks $50 free shipping policy. If your not buying $50 worth of stuff from them and have to pay a shipping fee then I should be cheaper. ;)
Here is all the machines they say this one filter fits. The 3 Wheeler models is in Bold.

Kyle, on right side of trike, just in front of kick starter and under rear of exhaust heat shield, there's a plastic cover. 2 phillips head screws holding it on. Under that is metal cover w/3-8mm bolts holding it on. Under that is oil filter, under that is spring (don't lose it). If I were you I'd go to Honda and get 1 filter to change now and then go to denniskirk.com and order cat. Then you can order 1/2 dozen or so emgos-part #301759/$2.99 ea. (that's what I use to Howdy) and a couple other things you need/want to make the $50.00 min.
Al
hey thanks. i have the day off work so i think i may get on changing that!

oem filters.you can order them at any PARTS PLUS auto store, but they

hi i am new to the forum and picked up my third trike but it's the first Ive had problems with, its a excellent condition 1985 250SX picked up for $650, it idles like a champ but loads up when throttle is applied except for when in reverse, i can wind out reverse it doesn't miss a beat, soon as i catch a forward moving gear it starts to load the engine, i have put a new plug in still same thing i let it warm up went to take it for a cruise and kept loading and wont let me open the throttle 100% about 75% runs fine once i feather the throttle and get it past the loading up, any suggestions i put SeaFoam in the gas it helped my dirt bike a 2005 CR450F that i bought sitting for about a year and the gas turned to putty i cleaned the carb then ran seafoam and now the bike runs like a raped ape, hoping for the same luck with my ATC i am open to all suggestions also i don't know if it matters the first gear is trashed it kicks and wheelies in first gear like it's missing teeth so i use 2-5

^ Welcome to 3WW :welcome:
This 7 years old thread about an oil filter won't help you.
Reverse is geared so low and revs high with no load. Take that carb off, remove every single jet and needle jet holder etc etc, clean them spotless and reassemble it with an inline fuel filter. Take apart and clean the petcock too..... It's very important to remove, inspect and clean every jet with carb cleaner. I've never used Sea Foam, I hear good stuff about it; But a thorough cleaning should get you rolling on 3 :D
Stay in this forum and put up a "new thread", then we can get going here on helping you fix it :beer

Just came from the auto parts store and wanted to share this information. I wasn't sure where to put it, so I'll post it here. The Fram oil filter to use with a 1987 Honda Big Red 250es is CH6015. The Autolite spark filter is 4164.

I always change my spark filter every three to four months, it keeps the spark plug nice and clean.
