Wheel, it's not the original picture ;)
I was just talking to my son, and I realized that my three wheel roots go way back, even further than I can remember.
I used to race my big wheel, and was the fastest kid on the block. One year we had a block party, and had big wheel eliminations. There was like 30 big wheels. I beat them all, over, over again :) LOL
First prize was a hot wheels car, I won a few that day :naughty:
I used to wear my plastic wheels, until there was holes around the front tire, and it would start thumping down the sidewalk LMAO.
Oh, and I found this funny video too, three wheel racing on the streets of Cali:

Hmmm, I wonder if there's a connection between us 3wheeler riders and the big wheel. I know it was my favorite!!

Yeah I rode one of those once. My dad brought two home one night for my brother and I. We rode them around the driveway. Then gave them to the kids across the street. Those suckers were like new. I bet you could find one of those at the local wheels and deals thrift store. They were fun.
Why did you give them away?

His dad gave them away because he found out 3 wheelers were dangerous! LOL. No, really, I had one of those also... and I thought my first 3 wheeler was an ATC110. Mine didn't have the "upgraded" brake that spun the bike. Wonder if that same braking system would work on my 350x? HEHE. Does anybody remember the Krazy Kar? Now remember, I'm 40, and I was YOUNG when this thing was about done with its tenure. It was a round car with swiveling castors on the front and back, and the sides had 2 giant wheels with handles on them that were used to "pedal" it with your hands. These things were da bomb! You could sit in one spot and do "donuts" so fast that your head would nearly fly off. What a blast.

Hey, I'm 41, and I remember the Krazy Kar. I didn't like it, I guess even at age 8 (or whatever) I was a three wheel purest.
I had the original bigwheel, and about 5 more after that, including the ones with the brake, and trunk. You could put your Star Trek communicator in the trunk :) Or some cookies, and take Sally for a ride.
I used to love sliding that thing out with the brake.

I had a big wheel and a crazy car. I recall wearing out the plastic wheel on the big wheel to the point where there was just mostly sidewall holding the wheel up.

Those pictures of those trikes in your first post are sweet, what are they running for PSI of boost, I see you already got slicks on the back and a heavy wheel on the front to keep the front end from lifting on take off:lol:
I remember riding my Big Wheel too, bad thing is I live on a gravel street and my houses yard is down hill, I would start rolling down the hill to the road, crank the bars to stop, slid sideways and rolled:( quad would have done the same thing though:banned:

Wow... Block parties, big wheel eliminations, green machines... I must be lucky because I did all of those. I had the brake, the holes in the front tires, the little trunks. Damn. Brings back memories.
My kids have bigwheels, in fact I caught them dragging it with a four-wheeler. :o
Good times.

Yep. Someone I knew had one. Awesome cool. And I had the old metal pedal car, like a 63 impala or something. Maybe a caddy? It was gold with silver on the sides. My folks must have thought it was dangerous or junk... I don't remember what happened to it.
For the record, I'm 39.
- 4 Big Wheels worn out
- 1 Green Machine
- 1 Pedal car.
Oh... and a huffy mx style!!! yeha. All over willow grove PA with thing at 6 years old. Those were the days.

My favorite thing to do with big wheels at the end was to "ghost ride" them HARD into each others big wheels. The noise of crashing them just sounded cool. And they actually took it well really no damage. That was some hard plastic.
I lived on a corner house, so I had a lot of side walk to ride up and down, racing the numerous Chevelles, Mustangs, Challengers, that burned rubber down the street.
FTR, I"m 40, going on 18. Good memories being a 3 year old in 1970.

Man, these days if you had a Big Wheel with a squirt gun mounted on the handlebars, you'd be deemed an idiot terrorist! An idiot for being on a 3 wheeler and a terrorist for having a gun mounted on your bars! Your parents would then be arrested for providing you this setup, they would lose custody of you, you would have to undergo psychiatric evaluations, and you would become a ward of the state. You would be permanently followed by the Homeland Security Department.
