So I call this guy, he tells me it has sat for 2-3 years, and he had to change the front tire because it was always going flat. No problem right?
15 minutes into the 20 minute drive to his place he calls me and tells me his brother took a hammer to the fenders and I might not want it. I told him I was nearly there and I will take a look anyway.
I pull in his driveway and he leads me around a shed into some really tall grass. Here sits a 1980 ATC 110 with a lawnmower tire in the front. The plastics are shattered, the seat cover torn, but the tank is dentless..... wow! I reach down and pull the starter rope and NOTHING! engine is seized :( No biggie. I tell him with the condition, it is worth $20.00 He agrees! WOW again. We talk about my kids trikes for a couple of minutes, and then I tell him that this thing isn't really worth anything to me at all. He then says, well you can just have it then. WOW! right on!
I get the beast home, my sons strip the broken fenders and tank from it to reveal the real reason why it is locked up. The thing sat submerged in flood water for 3 days this last fall.
