fork may be bent...unless your frame is, i say forks, the wheels to close to the motor.

That a 70? Your frame is bent putting the tire too close to the motor.

check underneath you fuel tank for a bent frame...teh 70's had a tendency to bend under the tank which causes the tire /fender to rub the motor

If the frame is bent, will that be an expensive fix?

Do you know how to weld?
You'd be better off buying a new frame for it.

No. The easiest way to fix it would be to just pull the tank and have the bent piece cut out and a new pice of pipe welded in. I would slide a smaller pipe inside the bent section and weld that in there too for extra strength. You can also get a good used frame and swap everything over. I did the frame swap on the last 70 I had because I found a used frame for $20 close enough for me to pick up.

Do you think $260 is a fair price. It runs ok

Less than 500$ for anything that runs is ok.

Are you sure that the front tire is the correct size??

I woulda stripped it down and changed frames without even thinkin about the air pressure!  YES by all means,,, try letting some air outta the tire FIRST! :D but I guess it wouldn't hurt to look over the frame real good for cracks.

Shave some rubber off the tires:p .That should help!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the forks are bent inward.

Don't all the ATC70's have a slight arch to the frame tube??

RedRider_AK
07-27-2007, 07:01 PM
Yeah that's definetely bent. My two 70 frames don't look anything like that up at the neck. I'd take thefox's advice and cut a section out and weld a smaller tube in it's place.
