Guys...I'm looking to build an aluminum swing arm for my '86 Tecate T3. I plan on using '86 Honda 250R parts....carrier,axle and hubs. I need to know:
Is the caliper bracket still available new ?? Is there a good supply of used out there?? Same goes with the disc brake hub ??
I'm rounding up the aluminum right now. When it all gets here...I'll build a jig and get started. I think I'll just stay with the stock length for now.

Why not go 400ex? Their swingarms are aluminum as is the 450R

The 400EX and 450R will bolt right on the '86 Tecate ??

No sorry I meant why not use the 400EX carrier. You could cut the 400ex arm at the carrier and weld it onto the tecate swinger.

I think the 400ex and trx250r carrier are the same.If you need a carrier let me know I have a spare twin row I got with my 250r.

I could use a carrier. Not looking for a $$$ spendy 1 though...not for a jig set-up anyway. Even a decent, used stock carrier would do. Once it's done and the bugs worked out....then I'll go for the good stuff. :w00t:

What I meant was use the 400EX carrier housing on your custom swingarm...

I know,James. I figure if I'm going to go thru the trouble of cutting up 2 swingarms to make 1...I might as well make a complete new swinger. Besides...If I don't like how it turns out for some reason...I'm screwed as I only have 1 stock '86 Tecate swinger (You got the other 1 had).

10/4 Sounds like it'll be the setup to have especially with all the options for 250R rear ends.

That was my thoughts...axles are available and carriers are everywhere.
