Well after about 8 hrs to and fro travel and one seriously packed chevy equinox, I rolled into south charlotte,nc where i am working currently with something i have always wanted. I ended up getting this tri-z from a new member to the boards BadPredator04, Dave from atlanta,ga. We had to dissassemble her in order to sneak it into my small suv. It was overall a pleasure to deal with Dave. I paid an extremely fair price for it and got a bunch of spare parts. Overall it runs really well and is strong. Great compression and solid trans. I cant wait to start on this project when i get back to ny in october. From now till then i will be building an inventory for the build. Look forward to your guys questions and input along the way. :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

It was close to that. Super nice guy to say the least. He paid alot more for it just a few years ago and sunk some money into and just wanted to get rid of it. He was getting married and had to many toys. I was stoked to get it! Just like any 21 yr old machine it needs some serious love. But with guys like sprock and ronnie spitting out all kinds of awesome stuff how can you help but not want to build a tri-z these days.

Did your leather seats get ripped ?

glad to see another Tri-Z with a twist throttle, the only way to go IMO! Have fun getting her minted out!

honda250sx
07-23-2007, 01:25 PM
Lmfao luxury. Shes just a work vehicle. Work pays for her to see the road. No leather seats were hurt in this move. They smell of super techniplate though! The twist throttle is whooped. Ex-owner did include a damn near new thumb throttle though and new cable. It was a highlight getting her in there.

On the way back to carolina i got pulled over in south carolina for a 89 in 60. Trooper was a young guy and he was like God'damn a tri-z, went on to tell me a story about having one as a kid. Ask where i got it and where i was going. Called me a yankee and told me to slow the hell down and to have fun with it! Phewwwwwwwww.

Nice pile of new stuff. Hows the bike doing? You gonna tear into the motor at the same time?

honda250sx
12-16-2007, 11:11 PM
Thanks Goat :)

Chris - Not sure on a set date. I work a ton and I am usually traveling for my job. I do alot of QGT (quality garage time) when I can and thats when I blast, powdercoat, and rebuild whatever. Like I said little bits at a time.

Brockey - Bike was a runner when bought. My current problem is a frozen swingarm bolt that needs to be cut out. Motor is not yet out due to swingarm issue. Motor will get new bore, Ronnies port work, sprock coolhead and clutch basket, Barnett clutch fibers and springs, Vforce reeds, all OEM bearings, seals and hardware.

12-17-2007, 07:13 PM
Wow going all out.I can tell it will be a bitchin build already.
You will love that DID X ring chain.I have pounded on mine for 2 years and only had to adjust it once.
Nice work on the powder coat.

honda250sx
12-18-2007, 12:19 PM
Raffa - What color you want? ?:) Blue,Black and Red are avail. Dirtbike and atv masters. Wrong clutch cable huh? I haven't even matched em up.

Mosh - Thanks. I have put a ton of these chains on customer quads and they love em to say the least. The powdercoating is just a hobby deal. I basically only do it for myself unless a friend need something done. Works out great. Super easy to do and is tough as nails. Especially epoxy black.

ANYONE GOT A STOCK SWINGARM? I NEED ONE :)

ATCT
12-18-2007, 12:30 PM
Looking really good. I was checking out those ASV levers myself. Can you use those on anything? Was thinking of getting some for my Tecate. The brake lever seems like it could pose a problem.

honda250sx
12-18-2007, 12:52 PM
ATCT - Thanks. The ASV levers are refurbs. availible from ASV themselves at a super discount rate. Almost half price. The clutch perch is universal atv/dirtbike applications. The brake lever is machine specific for a YFZ 450. What problem do you forsee with the lever? Mounts quite nicely on the bars and feels like butter.

ATCT
12-18-2007, 01:56 PM
Oh, I was just thinking that the brake lever was specific to certain machines and wouldn't work on the Tecate. Is that actually the brake resevoir on there or is it just a cover for the resevoir?

I definitely like them, however. I'll check out their site and see what they have available.

Tryzeedudeman
12-18-2007, 03:26 PM
I know there is a stock swinger on ebay right now, dont know what it going for at the time though

honda250sx
12-18-2007, 03:55 PM
Thanks Tryzeedudeman. I have been in contact with Todd about that swinger.

ATCT - That is a YFZ450 master cylinder as stated. The lever is for that master cylinder. The cover is something my dealership makes up to put on every new quad and dirtbike. They are nice and better than advertisement stickers because they cant be removed easily without having another cover :)

Here is a little update on the teardown process.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN2968.jpg

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN2972.jpg
This is my new dilema. The swingarm bolt would not come out. I literally cut the swingarm clear off of the trike. I then stripped it down and removed the engine. After cutting one of the sleeves that was rusted solid on the swingarm bolt I proceeded to try and tap it out of the engine cases. No go, wont budge one bit. :( Has anyone had this occur before? How did you remove it? Press?

My Z wanted bling BAD so everything slid out nice :D. Usually you can heat up the nut/bolt but I dunno about being that close to the engine

honda250sx
12-25-2007, 08:56 PM
Wheeliepop, I am worried about heating that aluminum something fierce. I am thinking cut the other end off and machine a fixture to press out the swingarm bolt out of the cases.

Bryan Raffa
12-25-2007, 09:03 PM
heat the steel incerts and use a press.. get the motor tore apart as mutch as you can ..it will be easyer to handle in the press

honda250sx
12-25-2007, 09:09 PM
I will have to see what i can do. Raffa I will need them trips from you. I can shoot out a money order after the holidays. Sound cool? PM me an address bro.

Bryan Raffa
12-25-2007, 09:14 PM
yep yep.. when your ready.. you gonna have to find something to slip over the bolt to help re inforce that right side case around that steel incert..ya know...

also if you get it out of the left side case, you could heat the alum. around the other side incert and drive that out with the bolt..

honda250sx
12-25-2007, 09:17 PM
Yes i am going to design a fixture to hold the engine. I may try to heat it just a bit with some map gas and soak it a bit. Then try to drive it out.

Dirtcrasher
12-26-2007, 02:36 PM
Take off the clutch cover and whatever guts you need to, your gonna go through the motor anyhow? Set it up on parallels on a milling machine and have at it.

Thats how I'd deal with it anyhow.......

honda250sx

Had sometime at home this weekend to tinker on the Z project. Went down to the ducati dealer near me who used to be a dealer for alot of assorted companies. Most importantly aftermarket companies. Scored some cool oldschool decals. Raffa you like the vintage dynoport decal?

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/DSCN3048.jpg

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/DSCN3049.jpg

Decided to build a TRX250R thumber to pull a big carb. All the guts inside are brand new OEM, bushings, spring, and that funky cam linkage they use in there.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3051.jpg

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3052.jpg

Scored this as well recently. NOS handlebar switch for the Z. Also redid the harness with all new connectors, plug wire and spark plug cap.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3054.jpg
Also scored this as well. Looking to trade possibly for other Z parts

honda250sx

I also had some time to shoot some powder and blasted up my Z's spring and shot it in some epoxy gloss red. Came out nice!! I decided to go with a white stock swinger with my red frame and black plastics. I might even put some westcoast decals on it. I also whipped up a galfer brake line at work. At the dealership we got all the goodies to make up anykind of brake lines. Lastly I got to thank X.SYSTEM - Jim! Sweet bushings man. I will be using this instead of bearings and bushings. Thanks man!

Holy COW Jeff!

This is the first time Ive really dug through your thread here.

The bikes going to look amazing! Your doing great.

That shroud, do you have both sides?

Looking to trade for Z parts eh? I have a little of everything, and would be willing to throw some stuff down for that!

Good luck, and taker it easy! :beer

honda250sx
01-20-2008, 09:52 PM
Eric thanks bro. I have been just crankin parts out here and there. Doing my own blasting and powdercoating sure helps. Along with working part time at a dealer and getting dealer cost its the only way workin on these relics is economically feasable without sinking thousands into it. That shroud was an early AM ebay score. You dont want to know what the BIN was? Lets say it was cheaper than one person can eat at Mcdonalds for....... Anyhow i dont have the other side. Just one in the wrapper, stapled shut. Haven't opened it myself. I really dont have a clue what i want to trade it for.

ATC-Eric
01-20-2008, 10:00 PM
Well Ill give you more then a mcdonalds meals worth for it

If you want to gets ride of it, name your parts, and we can deal :beer

What to do about an axle? I would like to go wider than stock. Maybe +4? By the looks of things it will be a banshee axle. Is this a direct swap? Stock rotor and hub for sprocket fits fine? G-force, Durablue, RPM dominator, lonestar? Whats a guy to do? What would you buy? Post up links as well.

02-18-2008, 11:17 PM

honda250sx
02-18-2008, 11:25 PM
Yeah your telling me. I totally dig that blue. It would be killer. But I always loved the 85.5 colors. I plan on going with a stock swinger in powdercoated white to mimic the westcoast. That switch was not selling, no one was bidding so i shot the seller a message and asked him to throw a buyitnow for 35 bucks and he did it. Thanks for the info and help Mike.

Well finally got my rear tires and mounted them up this weekend. Went with the classic turf tamers 20x11x9 on some ITP wheels. They are 4x110mm bolt patern. The hubs I am running are the PARTS UNLIMITED Yamaha spline/Honda bolt pattern hubs (PN#144512). They are cast aluminum and run about $60 bucks a pop. I powdered these with Super Mirror white powdercoat.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3127.jpg

I decided to mock up the front end of the Z as well. The forks have been completely rebuilt with OEM bolts, seals, and etc. They have also been outfitted with Progressive suspension and some 15wt. BelRay fork oil. Fork legs done in epoxy gloss black powder. Front hub done in Super Mirror White powder. Front hub has ALLBALLS bearings and Ronnie's stainless nuts and washers. Also running Ronnie's front stainless axle and spacers.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3128.jpg

I decided to go with a G-FORCE banshee axle +4 and a PWK39 carburetor. Those will be in next week.

Got my PWK 39mm carb today and I was wondering what throttle cables you guys are running with these things. I bought a brand new 86 style cable for my Z thinking I could run that. The end of the cable has the black female threaded part and the PWK came with a brass ferrel threaded into the carb cap? What do you have to do to make this work. Raffa, Mosh, Ronnie, ATC-Eric? How do you guys have your PWK's set up? I will be pulling it with a TRX 250R thumber.

Didn't expect these to be back in ONE day turn around from the local anodizer! Talk about service. Damn fast and nicely done. $40 bucks to have all of this done. I had to break up all the bling from stainless and billet. So I had these done. Note to anyone anodizing Hagen's clutch covers. They are not T-6061 aluminum some foreign alloy so they tell me.

I tried having the cases, cylinder, and head anodized on my Tecate a few years back. It doesnt work. The aluminum that is used for these pieces is basically a very poor quality with lots of other metals mixed in. The best way to describe it is that it looks like dirty copper. I had them done in blue. High quality billet pieces that are machined turn out like the sprock head. Bright and high luster.

honda250sx
04-10-2008, 10:04 PM
Steve if I had a complete billet motor I would anodize it in a heartbeat! Problem with anodizing is there are too many contaminates in casted aluminum. Even with different alloys, high manesium or high copper aluminum can wreak havoc on the color of choice. That stator cover from Hagen had to be dipped 3 times before they get there "brew" right when they coated it. They say it takes best to 6061 aluminum. The shinier the better they say as well. If its polished like a mirror the better finish you achieve. Steve if you ever need anything billet done let me know man. I work about a mile from this place. Quick cheap easy quality!

Had some spare time to get into the tri-z engine this weekend. Sure glad I did. This engine has had some water in it for sometime. It does appear to have had the waterpump gear and mechanical seal changed recently. After removing the clutch and everything else related to that side of the engine. I was able to drill some holes in the plywood I had between sawhorses and lay the engine flat. I then took a Razrblade grinding disc and cut off the swinger bolt that was frozen in the cases. I was then able to drive out the pin that was frozen in. It got even better when i split the cases. The tranny was completely encased in sludge and grime. Either way oh well. This will get all new OEM bearings and seals. Not the ebay bargain bearings and no name seal kits. Anyone who is familar with yamaha knows they run teflon around the sealing surface of the seals. Tranny shafts and gears look good. They will get cleaned up in a sandblaster that i use walnut shells in. Much for forgiving on delicate parts :). Frame will be back tomorrow from powdercoat and then its only a matter of time before there will be a roller!!!!

Eric in due time my friend. The engine will be a while. I have a ton of parts on order @ the dealer I work at. I have seen to many guys "rebuild" motors and not do what needs to be done. They figure one bottom end for every two top ends. This motor was on 68.50. Which is the second run for the bottom end. She is definetly tired. All the sealed bearings had signifact bubbling on the seals themselves, which means one thing RUST! Crank bearings didnt seem to terribly bad. But whats the point of spliting the case and not changing them. This wont be a whine and complain thread when I have a cosmetically good looking bike with a junk motor because I didn't take the time to do it RIGHT!

Dirtcrasher
04-21-2008, 01:02 PM
Well said.....

I cannot believe anyone would split a motor without changing crank bearings and or seals and many people do.

It's funny how people don't have the money to "do it right" but they do have the time and money to do it twice.

These OEM powerplants lasted almost 25 years in some cases. Then you have guys here that "rebuild" them and they rebuild them in STOCK form so there should not be a reliability issue. But, 2 weeks later comes the post " my engine seized" or "my tranny isn't shifting right" amongst many other problems.

Take your time, do it right and be done with it!!

Nice build Jeff!!

honda250sx
04-21-2008, 01:36 PM
Thanks Steve!

Yeah maybe that was a little bit of a rant post but I mean lets look at the contributing factors here. Not mentioning names but there are alot of guys doing some great things to keep these bikes up to date and so on that get these things "finished" and next thing you know its, "At my whits end", "Motor blown up", "I need crank bearings", "Hopefully this fix's it or all my bikes are forsale". Suck it up come on. I plan on this trike lasting me for a while or at least long enough for me to realize I want to build another or something else. So what, I know I will loose my ass but its been a hell of alot of fun doing it. If some of these guys get frustrated over a $250 dollar carb not running right then I hate to see what the hell they are really like in there normal day to day life with a wife and kids and a job too boot!

God I cant wait to get this thing together! No expense spared yet again. All OEM in the bottom. Crank will get trued up with a new rod and the pin tig welded in. I recommend for anyone buying the hoses to inquire about Mike's worm clamps he offers. They work nice! Waiting on OEM suspension shock bolts to install the shock and dogbone assembly. Ah okay. So what do you put some hose on the kicker itself? I remember you talking about it in another thread somewhere.

Yes brand new banshee rear resi with the other mount machined off :) ya got me!

Yes the tygon motion pro fuel line is amazing stuff. No one wants to buy it for its price. I just pull it off a 100ft spool hahahaha.

Decided on a grab bar. Love my other PRM grabber and went with the same damn model just cause it rocks. PRM also included 250sx tail light mounts that I plan to weld to this grabber so i can use honda's nice little rubber mounts to suspend my YFZ450 tail light on it.

I am currently trying to figure out what I can do to run an airfiter on the tri-z. I am going to be running corey's new intake on a cylinder with ronnie's porting. Im feeding it with the ever popular 39mm PWK. What do you guys run for a filter that run these carbs. Stock airbox just doesnt seem ethical. Clamp on's??? Pics of your setups always appreciated!

In the phase 2 wrench report they list a K&N (looks like it came off a carbed truck) that secures under the seat to the 90* rubber intake piece. The filter is still available from K&N if you'd like to go that route

And i remember now, just been a while.

K&N with a outerware and 12- 1" uni vents in the the stock air box & lid. With the rubber stuffer on the front of the box pulled out. it keeps the filter cleaner and still get plenty of air.;)

i got the " come get some " set up the mantis, and ill get you pic of the red/black one. i used a 12 inch k@n with a 4 long billet tube, it has the top mount alumuim tank though. it comes back half way under the seat

Nathan how did ronnie hook the mantis up like that? Any closer "undercover" photo's?

I am running a Pwk 39 with a pod filter straight off the carb on My big bore.

It has a 20 degree boot with a 4 inch pod filter.I had to trim down the boot at the carb a little.I measured the OD of the carb and the amount of area to the tank, went to K&N site and ordered by the dimensions I came up with.
I had to relocate The over flow bottle.
I moved it up to where the airbox "was" and zip tied it to the center frame rail.(Kinda hokey I know,I wanted to make a bracket or use a Shee bracket, but have not gotten to it yet)It works fine though.

I dont remember the part # off hand, but I can try to find it.

The only downfall to this is,when I need to clean the filter,I have to unbolt the 2 front plastic bolts under the seat to get enough room to remove it.But in reality,It isnt any more complex than servicing the stock filter. And at least I know I am getting a good seal, unlike the stock airbox.

But since I only drag it,I do not have to clean the filter too often.

Your Machine is coming along nicely. You are doing a great job.

EDIT:I will go upload pics here now.Give me a few minutes.

Rob without guys like you and Raffa...where would I be! I was actually thinking of getting a YFZ 450 coolant resi and moving it back to where the grab bar is tucked up nicely bolted to the frame. That way the height will be the same for the resi and i gain that much room for a filter. I am really going for a setup much like you described. But if i can i may try to develope something like what ronnie has on the mantis. Thats kinda nice and much easier for removal.

honda250sx
05-08-2008, 06:25 PM
This will give you the idea. This is meant to be mounted on the left hand side but due to the exhaust on the z being on that side I would mount it on the right hand side of the subframe. Wouldn't take much to make up a nice mount and move the resi over there.

Nice Idea, with the fo fiddy bottle.

Ronnies set-up is trick too,Ronnie's if I recall had a tube going up the back bone like the stock set-up,but made from billet.

I figured with the 310 motor,it would like the extra gulp of air without all the extra bends and curves, that the factory set-up restricts.

Obviously,I could have cut out my plastic, but did not want to hack it up for this filter.

I saw that you said the OEM rear plastic was available yet.Did they check if there were still units on hand?

Keep up the good work!

When i checked with them yesterday they had all three avail. What throttle cable do you have on that pwk. I was told 83 250r. I got one and the only way i could run it is if i take the locking nut off of the end and remove the locking nut on the cable guide on top of the carb. I am running a TRX250R throttle too. Thanks for the quick pics. If you get a number for that filter let me know. I LIKES IT!

Mosh
05-08-2008, 06:44 PM
I custom made that cable.I think it originated from a 85 250R,and I shortened the steel cable and re-atached the carb end.I also run a Sprock billet thumb throttle. So maybe that has something to do with my custom set-up.I cant remember anymore.Man I am gettin old.LOL

I got my K/N from J&L atv.

I either got the part# RU1700(2 and 1/4" carb size) or part # RU1750(2 and 7/16th" carb size)I honestly dont remember which one it was.Cant find the reciept either.

The are both 3 and 1/2 inches diameter;4 inches long and a 20 degree boot kick-up.You just need to measure your intake flange on your carb O/D,to order the right one.

i have two types of shaws, the comp is the greatest hooking shock for dirt drags ive rode. i have the chrome coil over version too, but it rebounds way to fast, the comp comes up very, very slow. so slow that in 300 ft, it almost back to the top at the end of the run!

Coming home to boxes of parts is the best thing in life haha. Got back into town this week and had my new PRM bumper at the house. Along with a bunch of billet intakes for anodizing from the sprock man! Got the bumper mounted up. As always another quality piece from the guys in Oregon. No bending, filing, cutting and tweaking. Just a few stainless bolts and painless installation.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3221.jpg

Also took sometime to mount up the YFZ450 L.E.D. tail light that i snagged for this build. I utilized the stock mounting holes on the back side of the tail light. I drilled and tapped the mounting holes on the tail light to an M6x1.00mm bolt. I then used the stock tail light rubbers for the Tri-Z to mount it. Once those were bolted to the tail light i used the mounts for the rear tank guard as a mounting point. Two longer stainless bolts and some washers and she is rubber mounted and ready for battle!

Got my Waterpump back in the mail today from Dirtcrasher aka Steve. Which those of you who have never dealt with or pm'd back and forth is a great dude, not to mention knowledgable in just about anything and everything. I sent him my pump to have it pinned. Came back just as I expected. High quality job complete with a stainless steel roll pin. Great job Steve. I really appreciate you doing this for me.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3226.jpg

I decided to throw together a collection of pictures on putting one of these pumps back together. I know alot of guys have experienced the failure and alot of guys inquire on how to do it. Here we go.

First off I made sure the journal where the shaft rides was free of burs and any damage that may have been caused by the removal of old mechanical seals in its life time. I just lubed up the seal with a little BELRAY waterproof grease and tapped it in with a seal driver of adaquate size. Be sure to have WATERSIDE facing out.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3228.jpg

Once the seal was installed I lubed the inside of the mechanical seal with some more Bel Ray waterproof grease. Here is the parts that are required to do the job. I purchased all brand new parts.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3229.jpg

With the shaft now installed thru the clutch cover it is now time to flip the cover over. Install the washer on the pump shaft and then insert the dowel pin.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3231.jpg

Next install the water pump gear to the pump shaft. Notice the retention area for the dowel pin on the backside of the gear. That goes face down onto the shaft so that the shaft can be mechanically driven by the gear.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i151/brauerpower/tri-z%20project/DSCN3232.jpg

With the gear installed, the last thing to do is install the e-clip that retains everything on the shaft. Once that is done the job is complete. Do not forget when installing the cover to put the washer back on the end of the shaft before fitting to the crankcase. The washer is easily retained with a dab of grease and installed.

Yeah I know its not a build of epic proportions in 20 days or something of that nature. But take a look at the big picture here. 90% of the powdercoating was done by myself. Takes alot of time and prep work. All of the parts used to rebuild EVERYTHING is OEM yamaha. This Z has the finest of upgrades. All the bells and whistles. All of which cost serious CASH. Ripper - I was informed by Daraugh "Bones" Flynn at OMF performance in riverside,ca that they STILL make this engine skidplate after I had made this from stainless! He was unaware that they were still offering these skidplates until I inquired about them so he asked the fab guys. So I ordered up my rear swingarm skidplate then instead. You can still get both of these for your TRI-Z. They require about 2-3 weeks lead time.

By the way, to order the tusk rotors, what bike did you use for the parts interchange so the rotors fit. Banshee rear? or Honda front? My rear rotor is bent a little and I may order one as a replacement.

04 YFZ 450 rear rotors. Just have to file out the bolt pattern just a touch and they go on real easy. Both the rear and and the front utilize that same rotor. The rear you will have to space over accordingly to accept the brake caliper

Real good workmanship here,,,,:w00t: ,,,,just wondering tho, do you need a hole in the skid plate for draining the oil?

Scored this earlier in the week. Seller posted this on ebay and I wanted to snag it before it went for some ridiculous fortune I didnt want to pay. Seller removed it from the bay and was more than generous with the price.

Got it mounted up along with mosh's repro shrouds. Looks pretty killer! Definetly happy about how its coming together. Finishing touches will be the engine and shock for the rear. The brand new OMF swingarm skidplate thats coming from BONES! And of course a cosmicquads seat!

Recieved my brand new OMF skidplate in the mail today from Bones @ OMF. These guys are top notch people to deal with. I knew from the second that I spoke with them that I had nothing to worry about. The plate took a few weeks to make. As they do not carry these in stock. It had to be cut, bent up and welded. I am VERY pleased with its look and quality. The welding on it is beautiful.

Installation was a snap! OMF provided all the necessary hardware to bolt it right up. It took about 10 minutes to bolt up. No cutting, grinding, filing, tweaking or bending required. No bullchit at all. Bolt up and your done. Just the way it should be. If you guys are considering purchasing one of these for your Z your crazy if you don't. These things are well worth the cash.

is that at the tightest position for the chain? I remember going up a tooth on the front sprocket and having some minor issues. I think the tighter the chain, the less clearance. Its must be nice to have nice new parts. I kick the *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* outta mine and i just call the rubbing an extra chain tensioner

Thanks

Mike I truly wont know until the motor is in and the new chain and front is fit. I plan on starting with a 14-40 ratio. Thats a NOS 40 tooth in the rear right now. Thanks for the heads up Mike I appreciate that!! . Im sure the boys @ OMF would be glad to rework it if I was unhappy. They seem the really go the extra mile.

Hate to say it. But there is Zero traffic up here in top tier builds. Might be the place for things to go when they get finished. Mine's no where near... Just a thought.

Well finally had sometime to tinker with the Z project. I am currently in the process of moving from the Western Ny area down to Cranberry Township, PA. That is the reason for hardly any updates in awhile. I recieved my seat from Tammy on saturday, but was too busy kicking ass at the local grass drags to open it. I got around to opening it up today and mounting the new seat rubbers and seat latch. I took it downstairs and slapped it on the Z. What can I say about Cosmic Quads seats. Pictures dont do it justice. Phenomenal work. Awfully comfy as well. Thanks again Tammy and Rob.

Well my WORKS shock should be here this week sometime. Its going to be a thing of beauty. I cannot wait to get her in and see how nice it is. In the meantime I have machined some custom banjo bolts for my master cylinders and calipers. These are pretty trick. They have been anodized for corrosion resistance.
