The slider that protects the swingarm from the chain..

Is this part discontinued? What can you use to substitute?

Good question. Don't know if it is discontinued but the ones on my 84 and 86 KX250 look to be the same. I'll check those if need be.

I considered making my own but would have to look into some industrial plastic.

DISCONTINUED. Been there...tried to buy that. Find some Delrin. Industrial plastic per say. Fairly flexible and easily machineable...lathe or bridgeport. Some of the toughest non-metal material I've ever worked with in the machine building industry.

Also going to add this to my '86 Tecate.

I'm looking to do the same as far as a chain guide goes. Have been sizing up late model KX500 chain sliders. Really need something to protect the aluminum from the chain.
