Hi Guys
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best engine and frame degreaser is out there? I bought a 88trx250r and 86 atc350x from a guy and the bikes have been in storage for the last 10 years which is great but here's the twist. He oiled down ever metal peice on both bikes so the sea air wouldn't rust them up while in storage for the last 10 years. The bike don't have any rust on them at all and they are both bone stock OEM bikes with everything original from the factory. Anyways, now both bikes have oil and in some place a kinda of sticky oil residue I guess from sitting so long in storage .So, I am wondering what the best cleaner is for getting the job done. Because I don't want any cleaner or stripper to strip paint or eat away at the seals and gaskets. Any input would be great.
Thanks 350XMAN

Castrol Superclean and Purple Power are both the best there is for breaking up the grease and grime. They have been known to take paint and other coatings with them though...

2nd vote for Castrol Superclean and a pressure washer.

Purple Power works miracles with grease, but you can't leave it on too long.
Put it on my aluminum skid plate (stupid) which was sitting in the hot sun (stupid) and let it sit for too long (stupid) and it came out all tarnished. Normally I can buff my own aluminum with mothers and never-dull and elbow grease, but I couldn't get it to buff out. Guess I'll have to take it to get done proffesionally.

Just mix up a super strong batch of Dawn dish washing liquid in a spray bottle. Spray it on liberally, let it set for a while then rinse it off...with a pressure washer if available. This works great for me and it's much more gentle on the paint and stuff than those commercial products.
