It starts and idles fine, but blows blue smoke. I went ahead and got a new piston head, rings, and gasket set so I can get this thing running right. :w00t: I also have a little problem with the carburator bowl getting flooded and leaking gas out of the overflow drain. What can I do to fix this? The weather is supposed to get nasty down here this weekend, so I think that it will be a perfect time to put the new stuff in and get it going. Hopefully everything comes apart like its supposed to.

Sound like your float and pin need a changing. If your float has a hole or crack in it it will cause it to fill with gas and sink, then it wont do its job and shut off the gas flow to the bowl so what you get is the carb overflowing non stop. Ebay usualy has carb rebuild kits. :beer

I rebiuilt the carb about 2 weeks ago. I didn't notice any holes or cracks in the float when I inspected it. It didn't do it before I put the carb kit in though. I put a hose on the end and shoved a nail in it so it wouldn't leak all the gas out. When I go to start it up, I have to pull the nail out and let the gas drain before I can start it. And when it starts its flooded and takes a minute or so to get going right. I'll take my carb apart and look at the float again. Thanks for the help.

It could also be the float needle itself so be sure to check on that to. :)
