go to your local welder/blaster, and they should be able to do it for a couple of bucks. Probably cheaper and faster than paying for shipping, and waiting for it.

heck 84250r,,, you could get a wire wheel for a drill for a couple of bucks + it is gonna do a number on a seat bracket. i have a 6 wire wheel set up that is just the ticket but also have sevral different kinds for the drill also.
i am lucky enough to have acsess to a industrial blaster at work for bigger stuff. (motors, rims, + about ant thing else i want to do up)

Im with Howdy. I have one of those $25 units, and I bought a $3 bag of sand 3 years ago that Im still using! By the time to cost in two way shipping, you can have your own!
u send it, i blast it.
:D That sounds funny!
Howdy, You say you bought a sandblaster for 35 bucks. Is it something that you hook onto an air compressor or what? Does it work very well? Would it be able to do very large projects?

Yes it hooks onto a air compressor. It can do large items also. It don't have a cabnet so I just hang some plastic up around what I an doing to catch the sand. Then I re-use it.
It came with a quart can for the sand but I modified mine a little with a hose ( I removed the can ) and can now use any size container I want. lol

I DO NOW!!! :D Went out and bought"MADE IN THE U.S.A." HUSKY 7 h.p. /60 gal. tank compressor today. Got it at Home Depot. Also bought sandblaster gun ($12.97). It's just a gun w/ air hook-up and 6' rubber hose conected to steel tube you stick in the bucket of sand.

Howdy,
The large project I am planning on doing is sandblasting a small antique digger and another antique disk. I am going to be repainting and restoring them so I can pull them behind my 1956 JD model 60 for a little fun. Right now I'm wondering if it would be practical to buy a sandblaster for future use or just rent a really large one to get this project done.

als250...what di dyou pay for that???? I bought a 60 gal 7 hp fro 399.00$ from a place in NC...I'v never seen another one that low.
It's only a single stage and it's not an oil free one either, but it does the trick!
It's kinda hiddin but the only one I could find!

Bill, $399.99 at Home Depot. That's for compressor only. Pretty good price I think. Then had to buy: filter, regulator, oiler, hose, oil (for motor and oiler),fittings to hook it all up,sanblasting gun, misc.,tax= $577 and change.
Did yours come with all the above? How do you like it? Ever blast w/it? Is yours a Campbell-Hausfeld? Saw one at Farm and Fleet, blue like yours.

Yea it's a C.H. No I had to buy all that crap to. With all the tools and other stuff I was up around 700 +. My wife was like "Hey you said this thing was 400" I told her ya it was 400...but I got have this extra stuff to use it! :) I did buy that sand blaster tool. The only way it worked well is if you buy the glass beads. I tried it also with regular sand, and was not happy with the results...It worked, just took way to long to do anything.
One thing I did do was run an extention off the oil drain with a ball valve.
The plug is 1/8" So you need 1/8" to 1/4" bell reducer, couple of 6" nipples, a 90, and a ball valve. Makes changing the oil much easier.
Enjoy...It makes light work of all most everything! I swapped out the motor in that 350x pictured in less than 2 hours.

Bill, my comp. came with a 3" ext.(and cap) that screws right in to drain hole. It extends out past motor mounting plate. The ball valve would be convenient though. Made mistake in earlier post. Farm and Fleet had the Porter Cable compressor($369.99) 7 horse/60 gal. TSC had CH. The PC only had 9.4 SCFM @ 90 psi, where the Husky has 10.3 SCFM @ 90 psi. Same horse motor and gal. tank. So I went with Husky. What does the CH put out? I don't remember :?

II couldnt remember...I thought it was 10.5 @ 90 but I was wrong. It's also a 6.5 hp not 7hp....ha ha you pay more in electricity than I do..j/k
I'm not sure that CFM rating is all it's cracked up to be. They must not be goverened by S.A.E., because none of my air tools exceed the 10.3 rating. But some of them while useing them will not allow the comp to keep up! But like I said it does the trick!
p.s. wernt you going to Badlands this weekend?
