200x flywheel lightening

When i bought my 200x it came with an extra fly wheel. After looking at it against the stock one its had some work done to it. Theres a flat steal plate on the back of the fly wheel that was drilled off the extra fly wheel to make it lighter. Anyone else ever heard of this being done? Im sure people have lightened them before but this way seams very easy so i thought id share it with you guys.

ive herd of it being done but never seen it done. i got my 200s flywheel done but it was turned.

The guy i bought mine from was a machinist, so im assuming he took the steal plate off just to get it out of the way to turn the acctuall fly wheel down on a lathe.(wich he never got around to doing) But none the less taking off the plate did give a noticable weight loss in itself.
