I just swapped all my good 350x parts to a better frame that is an 86.The 85 caliper mounting bracket is different and I cant get the 86 caliper off its mounting bracket. I have searched on here and cant find if any other calipers will bolt up ,like a 400ex or something.Have any of you guys found anything to bolt up to the 86 rear end,, or anyone have a mounting bracket or caliper for an 86 .thanx

i heard that alot of the calipers interchange just not the brackets.
i've read on here awhile back about someone using a front caliper on the rear for the dual piston set-up.
but i haven't tried any of them. i just bought new seals for my stocker.

I'd be lying to you if I said "I know there the same" but most all 200X front and rear calipers and older 250R calipers are the same, just the bracket changes like Eric said. I have seen a couple of oddball housings that used a shorter or longer slide bolt but that was it.
If ya use a bit of ingenuity, you can run just about any brake on anything. I'm running a 2002 Banshee brake setup on my 86 200X and it works super. I had to make 2 simple but nice and correct brackets to get it bolted up.
You can get that caliper off of the 86 mount, you may just ruin the caliper in doing so. It has an allen head slide bolt and a slide pin that it slips off. Both of which get seized severely if they don't get maintained. I usually drill them out in my milling machine.

ive had a couple calipers do that on my 200x's. i just clamped the bracket in a vise and beat the caliper back and forth and it freed up the allen head bolt and it turned rite out.
the piston was stuck also so i used a 2006 cr85 caliper on the 200x bracket. it'll work for a 350x also. i did a thread about it in the mad sceintist section. it's titled "200x caliper swap"
it was me and my brother SWIGIN that did the front YZ dirt bike caliper swap on 86-89 atc/trx 250r's. it's almost a direct bolt on. my brother did a thread about it in the mad scientist section.

If you can'y get the allen bolt out try cutting it at the mount and adding a little heat on the caliper where the bolt slides in, Honda puts in a steel sleeve for the allen bolt to slide on and if you heat it up the sleeve will slide out with the bolt. Once out (and cooled off) the sleeve can be removed and cleaned up. Clean both the outside and the inside and reinsert it into the caliper. (a dremel works real nice for cleaning up the rust) Then install a new slide allen bolt.
