ok so the more look at it i see that u dont get a performance "cage" you get the RAD valve which is a upgrade from the stock cage? then i need the carbon reeds for the rad correct. someone tell me all i need if i want to get all i can do with the reeds. what mm is the 86r stock? thanks is a rad valve worth it? and how about the reed spacers how much do they help?

i got the rad valve and it seems to work very nicely...Added more mid range snap that i noticed..I think it works great, but im sure other people will tell you to go with the vforce..Its just what you like...

Another option is a CR reed cage.
I'm using a 98 CR cage, with Aktive reeds, and it works quite nicely.

I didnt know you could get v-force reeds for a atc but I do know that I use the v-force 3 on my old 98 yz and it made a noticable difference. I liked them, and will be putting them on my rm....which probly doesnt help you in any way...

I'm going to combine what InPeIcEs said, along with fast94tracer. You order a V-Force 3 reed system for a 98 CR250 and stick it in your 250R.

Rocky Mountain has a listing specifically for the ATC250R.

Barely a month before I bought my vForce3 system, I put factory replacement Boyeson Carbon Fiber reeds in my 86R. Considering that my factory reeds were wasted, the performance was quite nice. Nothing compared to the vForce3, but better than stock. I've still got my Boyesons mounted to a stock cage, so let me know if you'd like a slightly better deal than brand new.

My .02, get the Boyesen carbon fiber reeds, and the port your reedcage (do a search for my thread). Cheap, and really nice power gain.

For most riders, I would simply use the standard fiber reeds on your stock cage. I have ported Rad valves now, but was just as happy with my stock cages for woods and casual riding. It will be more than fine for anyone not trying to eek out the last 1.3hp from their bike on the track....and A LOT less expensive.
