rear wheels from nearly any Honda sport atv...200x, 350x, 250r, 250ex, 250x, 300ex, 400ex, 450r. front wheel and hub from 200x, 350x, 250r...but there are 2 bolt patterns depending on year/model. I think atc185 motor, some atc200 motors - auto clutch pull start, I think rear hubs from just about all the above list except 350x. There are more I'm sure.

ok how old r u ? wats your riding capabilities ? this all comes down to how you can ride. why dont ya just mod the 200x engine or 200s engine.

I was teasin ya - ya knucklehead!! Every kid wants a faster motor. Truth is, once your riding ability is there just get yourself a 250R and you'll be done wishing for speed or performance. Only a handful of people want anything larger than a 250CC 2 stroke and for a good reason, THEY RIP!!!!!

For now, enjoy your 4 stroke and leave it the way Honda intended or just do the simple exhaust and jetting that we all do. Which, by the way - does add quite a bit more zest to your toy.

im 14 bout to turn 15, the engine i have is bad it wont start so im just gonna get a new one but im just wondering why dont i just get a bigger engine instead

ok if you want bigger get your self a air cooled 250R engine and mod it in there. but you have to line it all up and so on. i would just fix and mod the 4 stroke for now. i modded my 200s engine and boy does it fly now. listen to these guys they know their stuff when it comes to trikes. ive learned allot in the last year and a half from them.

Danger ! :Bounce
I would recommend a 200 or 250 4 stroke engine, not bigger than that. They have enough power, specially if you are that young. You can upgrade in 2 or 3 years, just be carefull.

be careful what engine you choose...many engines will "fit", but most will need custom mounted, so if you don't know how to weld/fab or know someone who does, you're barking up the wrong tree:lol: .
I agree with the others here, rebuild the motor you got. if you want more power, bore it out, put in a higher compression piston, put on a performance exhaust, better air filter, rejet it. not only will it rip, but you get to learn a lot and be proud of your work when done.:w00t:
whatever you do keep us posted, especially if you put a blaster motor in it:naughty: ...I'd love to see how that would turn out.

ugly200x
07-03-2007, 08:32 PM
well im still not sure about the blaster motor because we dont have a welder anymore and i wont wanna pay for it to be done but if i did id put in it there

Blaster engines are nothing like 200x engines. If you sit them side by side you will see the difference. And the blaster is a backwards kickstarter, not forward like the X. Exhaust wont lign up either, the frame will be in the way. The list goes on, Its not just a simple bolt in thing. It would take alot of work and cutting to make it actually somwhat decent. Just stick with the 200x engine, stock blaster engines are dogs.

xr200 motor will work with the exception of 84-85 rfvc dual carb motors.you will have to put the 200x side cover and kickstart gears in the case for the kickstarter to work.xr motors kick to the rear 200x kicks to the front.185 or 200s motor would be pullstart. Also the rear brake lever will olny work with a 200x side cover.Pretty much anything but a 200x motor will require fabrication or swapping parts between motors to make it work.
Tell us more about why your 200x won't run there are some very helpful people on here that could point you in the right direction.

how come i cant just leve the kicker gears on the xr motor?i dont like how the x kicks in the first place lol

u goin to throw any mods in there ?

super90
07-04-2007, 04:29 AM
Good choice! Making the exhaust work, kick start and all thoes other little things wouldnt be that worth it. You would be more happy with a modified 200x engine with its reliability than a blaster engine. Blaster engine might last 2-3 years, X engine will last a lot longer if its not overly done.

cool.. what kind of mods should i look at, i have a supertrapp on it but i dont like it

84honda200s
07-04-2007, 05:03 PM
well how much coin you got to play with ? one of the cheaper ons would be to get an after market exhaust and rejet the carb. you could also port it out and get a bigger carb. those would be the cheaper mods however they still cost some pretty good money.

^ It has a supertrapp. People say on here there alot better than dgs and cobras.

The design of the DG's and Cobras are almost identical, a straight-through with a louvered core and very little packing. The SuperTrapp uses that and diffuser discs, so it's a lot better. And you can tune it!

ugly200x
07-05-2007, 02:21 AM
i still dont get how to freakin tune it. geez its so difficult

super90
07-05-2007, 04:59 AM
Its not hard at all. Remove or add discs to the end by remvoing the one screw in the middle

oh lol, ill look at it today

There isn't anything wrong with a DG exhaust or with a SuperTrapp. Buy the cheapest one and your going to get the CHEAPEST one.

You can get one of DG's Excellerator's with or without the USFD spark arrestor. http://www.dgperf.com/atv/ATVProductsDetail.asp?ATVProductID=248&model=ATC200X The Excellerator with the spark arrestor has tunable disks just like a SuperTrapp. http://www.dgperf.com/atv/ATVProductsDetail.asp?ATVProductID=266&model=ATC200X

Don't Buy a RCM unless you want it loud. http://www.dgperf.com/atv/ATVProductsDetail.asp?ATVProductID=242&model=ATC200X

Does SuperTrapp even still make an exhaust for a 200X????

ugly200x
07-06-2007, 01:31 AM
not anymore, i think its white brothers racing now

super90
07-06-2007, 04:11 AM
White brothers dosent make and exhaust for a 200x. Only dg and cobra. I have a pro circuit on mine though that I like alot.

ugly200x
07-06-2007, 05:58 PM
no im saying i think supertrapp is the same as whitebros because everything ive seen of supertrapp parts are whitebros manuf. so thats just what i think. howd you get a pro circuit, those are my favorite!!!

super90
07-07-2007, 04:58 AM
Yeah the white brothers E series are similar to supertrapp. The discs are probably the same also. I got the PC off ebay for $40.00. It was for a 400ex and I modified it to fit my 200x. Sounds really nice on there and is holding up great, I just need to find a way to seal the inlet up a little more.

ugly200x
07-07-2007, 02:47 PM
i would tie it up to the frame but that wouldnt look nice lol. what kind of modifications does it take to fit it on there?!! i want one very bad now lol. what other silencers would fit on there, my cousin has a 400ex silencer on it but im still wondering what he did to fit it.

super90
07-07-2007, 04:29 PM
Cut the header shorter, make a hanger, and make a coupling that adapts the 400ex inlet to the header. The 400ex inlet is really big and will not just slide onto the header. I had to sacrifice a old junk cobra and cut that inlet and a little bit up the cone to jam into the inlet and weld it in. Then it just slid on, but I had to make a 1.5'' hanger to attach it to the frame.

ugly200x
07-07-2007, 05:20 PM
ok nevermind i dont think i could do thatright now lol, maybe after my freshman year because im taking the welding class

after exhaust and carb jetting if you still want more power, try polishing out the ports... I wouldn't recommend grinding on your engine, but you would be supprised what just some steel wool and polishing compound can do. I did some work on a 3.5hp briggs and stratton flathead and it's amazing how much more power it has.

ugly200x
07-08-2007, 12:43 AM
yeah i cant fing the polishing compound, thats what i want to do

super90

Mothers is a polishing compound. You can buy it at walmart, napa, autozone. Pretty much anywhere. Ive even seen it in grocery stores.

Can you really polish intake runners with car body polish (Mothers)?! I thought maybe you needed to smooth the runners first...

super90
07-08-2007, 03:49 AM
I dont know a whole lot about port and polishing. But he said smooth it with steel wool first. Mothers does make it really smooth though but im not really sure though.

2 questions, how hard is it to polish and how much does it cost

With the steel wool and polishing compound it's really cheap and easy, But it's time consuming... On my little 3.5 horse I spent about 2 hours per port.
it would be like twice that for a 200x.

to speed it up a little you can take a normal cordless drill put a bolt in it spin the drill while holding the wool against the bolt (works best on about a 12mm bolt head) and let the wool spin into a ball on the end.

Then just start smoothening out the ports with it... after you get it down were it's all smooth just take a normal shop rag and some polishing compound (not the wax type) and rub it on the inside of the ports... it gets them real shiny and smooth after a while... but it gets boring... I brought my block into my room, put it on a towel and polished it while I was watching a movie...

Here's a link for the polishing compound. It comes with a mini powerball, that will really speed up the polishing time.
