View Full Version : 350x frame motor mount
I am curious, I have been reading the old posts about the differences in 350x frames from 85-86 and I have read that they gusseted the motor mount on the 86 frame. I see absolutly no difference between the 2 years in that particular spot. I have both an 85 and and 2 86 frames, the 86's were made 8-85 and one from 10-85. The 85 frame was made in 12-84. Is that considered early for an 85 model. If not is it possible that they changed the 85 frame mid way through 84. Any info will help. I remember reading something on this but I can't remember.
Thanks denn

My '86 frame has a gusset, not sure what month it was made in though. Its on the left side, the mount above the sprocket kinda by the carb. The gusset is on the main down frame where the mount is welded to it, from memory it seems like it might have been just a flat piece sorta wrapped around the frame, then the mount welded on. I think both year frames have been known to crack back by the tail light/seat mounting rubbers. I also have one '85 that is cracked on the lower front motor mount. The one that is like a inch wide spacer welded to the frame
