Alright guys, I have looked everywhere for an intake boot for the 86 tecate. What else will fit or can we make work ? Any inside help would be greatly appreciated!

Many years of KX250 and possibly KX500 fit but they don't line up with the airbox.

so what.. you drop the airbox and go open? Is that what most are doing. I am only riding it in open dry fields. Might work. thanks

That's what I do with a Boysene Rad Valve from a 96 KX250 I believe.

I've had to save a few manifolds too. I used Permatex Hi-Temp Black RTV with excellent results.

I found that on Bike Bandit and tried to order as well. Aslo tried to order from Kawasaki and oldkaw.com. I found that they bought out old stock parts all over the country. THey have some stuff, but not an intake boot. Mostly old bike parts.

I got a NOS one of ebay several months back. If another comes up for auction be prepared to pay 2 - 3 times what dealer would charge. Yeah, they're rare, if you want a new on, expect a rare price.

the pic is fairly dark, so i need a kx500 intake boot to run an open filter? as the stock one is strait and a k&n will run strait into the shock..

any KX250 boot from '87-'04 should work if you want an angled boot..
