That is the regular pro-link swingarm on there. Not to sure on what year it is.
84 if thats the original white tank, nope 81 rear end wont work and would be a bad step back

The swing arm looks to have been extended slightly and it looks like they welded an 81 axle housing and axle on the end of the extension, if so good luck adjusting the chain, some closer pics would help identify exactly what was done to the swinger :wondering

The axle itself is a 83-84 inside an 81 housing that is bolted onto a modified 83-84 swinger but what gets me is how they got the drum brake system on the 83-84 axle:wondering do you know if there is even anything inside that drum brake housing, you aught to take the cover off and see, unless it works fine, and also it has 81-82 hubs and wheels.
With all of this done the swinger appears to be a couple of inches longer, if the rear brake doesn't work pull the drum brake cover and let us know if there is anything in there.:)

Alan is right wtf ? that is very odd but I do see that you have a chain adjustment system that is good other than that I don't know what to say:wondering
umm...... I would uh.... trash the rear end and get another swinger/carrier/axle/brake setup. becouse that is going WAY backwards on performance right ther!

Yeah we both went down and got saturday morning in Ovid. We haven't discovered what it is yet. Its an 250r but what is up with the rear end set up. Does anyone know what it is off of. IS the swinger an 83/84 swinger.
