What are the advantages and disadvantages of each one

250ES would be my choice. Shaft drive, rear shock. 200e is a good bike but the 250ES beats it hands down in my book.

Hi I had a 1982 big red it ran great never got stuck but no reverse & no rear suspension gets old real quick, sold it and bought 2 - 250sx's. More power, shaft drive, reverse & rear suspension best all around trike you can buy. I also bought a 1985 big red I haven't riden it yet but it will be a trikefest.:w00t:

Hi and welcome from the U.K.
I'm probably biased but I would go for the 250 purely for the gear arrangement. Now, I've not had any experience of the 200, but I have with a Yamaha and on that machine the Hi/Low/Reverse lever is a real pain. The 250 has revese, super low, then 1,2,3, ect. all on the pedal, and not having to rest your chin on the tank to change looks smoother too! Don't get me wrong, I've never owned or ridden a 200 and I suspect every 200 owner on here swears by them, and why not? If you've got it, flaunt it! Let's hear thier opinions.
Any way round you'll have fun with whatever you get. Just go slow at first, learn what it can do and what it's limits are and then, ENJOY!

Just a daft question, Is there a difference in frame/wheel sizes?

I've owned both the e & es. If the money is there, go with the 250es. Rear suspension is great and worth its weight in gold. Your back will thank you later in life. I'm 40 and blame my back problems on the bikes I grew up on without suspension - my 110, 185s, 200s. The es has a detachable headlight, which is nice when night riding and having breakdown (or if you drop your beer and can't find it). The es rear rack is much better than the e because a section of the rack raises with the trunk lid. A friend was really happy with his '84 200es... until he rode my 250es. I ended up selling him my other one I had at that time. He wouldn't stop bugging me about it. The 250 has an oil filter, helping engine longevity. No need for dual range gears. First gear is a stump puller on the es. I was having second thoughts about selling my 200e because it was a nice trike. Those thoughts quickly went away after buying my first 250es.
