'86 200x gray engine?

i sold an '86 200x that had a silver or gray engine. it was very clean and looks like it came that way from the factory. correct me if i am wrong but i think all 200x engines were black?? this 86 200x motor was gray just like my 1985 200s motor.

If it wasnt painted, it COULD be a lifan engine or a different brand?

this was not painted, looked to be factory. honda 199cc 6 speed engine. i wish i would have kept the trike bc i think it was pretty rare. anyone else seen one of these in gray? i have a picture somewhere

my brothers trx200sx had the engine replaced and the new engine is gray. i havent gotten a chance to ask the original owner where the engine came from, but it is def a honda. heres some pics

i don't think they are the same motors. but i think you are right. i bet the gray engine was not original but was a replacement. it was honda too though. same engine though just gray. i used to race blaster that had pipes and would beat them with the 200x

wow really old thread, but the most likey source of your engine is honda, its probably an 87 engine that was put in under warrenty
