sence it looks like im stuck with this trike ill be keeping it. But im not to big a fan of the little put put 200x motor. im looking for a bit more power with a ring of a 2 stroke. sence i have alwas wanted a 250ri figure ill just make one. what im looking for right now is a starting point. i might not be able so stuff a 250 motor in there so i might go with a 125. im sure that it can be done. matter of fact ive seen pictures on here a long time ago with someone that had put a 125 motor in a 200x. Not sure if anyone has been doin this ive beeen out of the loop for a long time. i figure a 2 stroke would be tits in this thing

There are 125cc 2-stroke trikes and I don't see how you would benefit from putting a smaller 125 in your 200x.
I had a 175cc 2-stroke trike and have had a 200x. The X was a LOT faster.

i knew this woud come up ... basicly id like to have a motor with a full line of cheap avalible parts and up grades. i know they have upgrades for the 200x but its not a 2 stroke and id prefer a 2 stroke. also i have put tons of money into this trike and have it exacty how i want it beside a non running motor that ive rebuilt 2 times and id ike a 2 stroke anyway. its got new bearings/plastics/prm grab bar/tires/rims/painted/super scoops the option plastic tank from the 80s and all that. everything i want exept a 2 stroke. ittl be cheaper for me to put a 125/250 motor in it then buy a 250r. looks like they used 125cc 200xs back in the day for fattrack which il be using it for along with some trail riding once and a while. and ive tryd to sell this thing for 2 years and its been sitting the whoe time. its time i do somthing with it

200x engine faster than a 175cc 2 stroke? Maybe if your using an old outdated detuned engine. But if you were to put a cr,kx,rm 125 engine in it theres no doubt it would haul! Theres no reason why it wouldnt fit in the frame, just modifying the mounting points would be your only problem, and probably the exhaust. Either way, a 250 or 125 engine would still be really fun in a 200x chassis.

You don't know what your talking about. I said I had a 175cc trike. Yamaha 175. And I had an '85 200x. The 175 ran great, and had a much smaller frame than the 200x. And the 200x was much faster.
Maybe YOUR 200x has an old outdated detuned engine, or just an inexperienced tuner???
If you think this project would be so easy or worth the effort, then why aren't there ANY on here?

I would say the main reasons you dont see any 2-stroke 200x's are:

1. the owners bought them because they are 200cc 4-strokes...
2. There isnt a good place to put radiators and the custom exhaust is beyond most peoples capabilities or budget...
3. 250r's, tecates, tri-z's are plentiful...

There will be soon my friends I have started a 125r aircooled project using a 79-80 cr125 engine, no need for radiators, the thread on the mad scientist lair .:D
