Got some riding pics this past weekend. It was 105+ degrees out. Great R riding weather! :naughty:

First set of pics are all of Brent (dovesprings250r).

Here's a few of me.

We had a couple of young Sidewinder Rattlesnakes wander into camp the last night out. Cute little guys but the first one really freaked us out because it got so close before anybody noticed it. The thing went right behind my legs and towards Rex Kars who was sitting in a chair next to where I was standing. It got within about a foot, maybe a foot and a half away from him before he jumped out of his seat. Hopefully dovesprings250r can post the pic soon.

Here's what the back of some of those roost shots look like.

The sunset pic was taken from on top of a pretty high peak. You can't really tell how high it is from the pic though. The group trike shot in camp was taken before disco and rivertoys showed up with 2 more 250R's. The pic of the 2 trikes with the canyon in the background was at the tail end of a long riverbed run that was a blast. Just WOT hauling arse. Good stuff.

Thats so sweet, you guys love to roost huh? LOL Same here.

I'm moving out there once the girlfriend and I can afford to. She loves the dunes, says she would have a lot of fun out there and I show her these kinda pics EVERY TIME I CAN. Would love to build a duner out of my Tecate!

Nice pics Doug. Thanks for making the trip! As soon as the new haed drive is in I'll post Leia's pics of the snake. That roost pic from behind the dune came out nice! Can't wait to do it again in cooler weather.

to many rocks to run paddles?

to many rocks to run paddles?

Yeah. That place is a mix of dunes and desert riding. I had to be real careful because the rims I was running are blue labels. There are tons of rocks out there those rims would be no match for. I ended up only getting one ding in one of the rears. Not too bad considering. I probably could have ran my sand sharks. No way I would have even tried my haulers though.

I've seen people run paddles out there before but you're limited to only the dunes. The sand was soft but we still climbed just about everything out there. Thanks for coming Doug, I had a blast!

Here's a few small vids that Rivertoys posted on dot org (hope you don't mind dude!) :beer

These are all on a long, incredibly soft dune. Doesn't look like much but it's not as easy as it looks. Mine and Brent's R's were the only ones to make it up on the first attempt as far as I'm aware. I was in fourth gear on my run so that should give you an idea how soft the sand was because I'm not going very fast at all.

Where were you at? Last time I went to the dunes in 100+ weather it took a little "oomph" off my R, and me too.

Rasor Road near Baker, CA. I run that Cools Like Ice Water stuff in my R and have run it in 100+ degree temps before with no problems.

The engine ice stuff does work really well in the heat. Or just riding at night! It was very hot out there.
