I have been re-assembling my cases, and installed the crank and balancer as the manual shows, as a set. The timing marks are lined up on the gears and the weights. Two bearings on either side (in the case) and no shims or washers. After I got that and the transmission together, torqued down the case bolts, and spun the crank, it makes a very slight ticking noise when I spin it. The faster I spin it, the more you can hear it.

It sounds like metal hitting metal, but it doesn't slow down the crank at all, so it must be just ever so lightly hitting it. I have never heard this on an engine before, and its faint, but I fear it will become very loud when the engine is spinning at 6000+ RPM's

When I look in there, it doesn't look like anything is hitting, and it only makes the noise as the engine would be on its down-stroke.

Did I install something wrong? Anyone else had this problem??

im not 100% sure but it may be because theres no oil!

You should have put a few drops of oil in the mains and grease on the seal lips. Other than that, sometimes you have to rap the crank with a plastic hammer to get it seated right. But, if it's smooth then it is probably centerer ok....

Hope you didn't whack on the mains or not put the cases back to gether perfectly aligned. It's easy to damage a main bearing, there a good tight fit.
