if you have a press i would definately give it a shot, just dont use any heat with it. i tried straightening some forks one time and i got one straight, but the other snapped when it was almost straight because it was horribly bent... about 45*.

we tried to straighten the rear axle on my 200es. we hit it in the right spot with a hammer and it helped a lot. i rode it for like 2 days and it was right back where it was before.

The axles can be straighten if they aren't bent too bad. I have straightened a few axles ( and a lot of other things ) over the years and not had a problem. Cheap route would be to find a local machine shop, and have them do it for you. It should cost more than $20-$30 for them to do it.

i know a guy who got an axle straightened before for his 200x, did not come out perfect but was a big difference then before, with some more time, he probably could have got it even straighter. he heated it up and straightened it with a press.

You donot want to heat them, you will disturb the temper of the metal.

Metal has a memory, and will return back to it's position, if you bend it the right way. The trick is, to get it all the way back, you have to apply force in the opposite direction, past it's original position.

You bend it in a press, then spin it in a lathe, and check the run-out with a gauge.

Within a couple thousanths is fine, the tires have more wrong with them, than that.

I just gave my axle to a cycle shop, I will let you know how it turns out.

Why are these 200es axles so hard to find...there's a bunch of 250's on ebay...are they that rare of a trike?

trikerider2oo7, my manual had no p/n for the axle in it. Sorry.
