So i'm installing a new pipe on my 110. While I was removing the stock pipe I broke the head off one of the bolts on the head. I tried cutting a slot in it and turning it out with a screwdriver but it wouldn't budge. I cut it all of the way off with my angle grinder and drilled a hole where it was. Now I want to cut the head off another bolt and weld it in the same place so the threads come up out of the head. Will welding something to the head fry my electonics & coil?

Can you weld a nut onto the broken stud and unscrew it????
Let it cool down first then try to heat the block a bit. It should come out then.

Yeah I already drilled it out. Now theres just a threadless hole there. The thing wouldn't budge, i used PB blaster, mapp gas and everything.

I just went through that with my R, except I tried an eazy out and snapped it off inside the broken bolt. Dammit talk about a fun time.

are you trying to weld a steel bolt to the aluminum head?? its not gonna work.

just tap the hole you drilled and then thread in a stud.

Can you intall a heli coilor a thread insert into it. It works great on aluminum when we strip the threads on the machines we do retrofitson at work.

I'm just gonna get a new head on saturday instead. I gotta settle for a 90 but oh well. Will I even be able to tell the difference between a 90 and a 110 when I'm riding it?
