Hey, lets see them airfoolers and what you have done to it!
Edited* this thing was a heap when i bought it, no front breaks, fork springs were crap (2 different ones at that), one fork was bent, an 82 or 81 exhaust pipe and some crappy silencer, missing nuts n bolts, seat fenders and tank were zip tied on, rear master cylinder mounts were gone and a flat bar welded on in its place, no headlight, no kill switch (toggle).....i have fixed all of that then some, but there is still quite a bit of work to b done!

I have 2 - an 82 and an 84.
The 84 is rather performant - Unknown / unidentifiable pipe and silencer - water-pumper carb - no airbox lid - Boyesen Power reeds - polished reed cage - fresh topend.
The 82 is nearly bone stock.
I love these air-foolers to death - but am still dying for a water cooler!

I got my R back in december, when I got it, it was supposed to only need a top end. Well, long story short, about the only thing on it that hasn't been rebuilt or replaced is the rear shock, which seems to work good. When I finish it I'll make a thread full of pics, but here's a pic from when I bought it.

Awesome thread guys, love the airfoolers. Tim, your 84 looks really nice, never seen that color scheme before looks great! Syko, that 300R looks brand new compared to mine, nice! tocheaptosmoke, the white tank looks cool, I might do something like that on my next project. Heres a few pics of 250, and I'll throw in an old pic of my air cooled 480 project I'm workin on now. And before anyone says anything, yes that is an XR200 number plate on there, wanted to go with something a little different.
Two of those pics are the cleanest its ever been, I should wash them more but I'm always so busy its hard to find the time. The tank fins are from Aussieduner, and it's lost those huge tires on the back, its got 18's now :) a few more weeks and the 480 should be done. Nice trikes guys, keep posting pics!

This was my first 3 wheeler about 3 years ago. When I bought it 3rd gear didn't work, but it started right up. I tore everything apart so I could take the motor down. I took the motor completely apart, didn't see anything missing or wrong, and put it back together. It started right up, but 3rd gear was still gone (bad shift fork, I am pretty sure).
It sat for about a year after that, except for one time we took it to ride down by the river in Southeast Kansas. When I got to California, I bought another motor, and it ran great, but had some shifter shaft issues.
I bought another motor, and it ran like a bat out of..........well, you know. But, it was a ported cylinder, and the stock carb wasn't keeping up, and I locked her up. But, I took the original cylinder that I had already bored and bought a piston kit, and I sent it off to be ported along with the head to PR Racing out of Ohio.
Well, she runs like nothing before! I can run side-by-side with a piped and jetted KFX400. And that's with me being about 80lbs heavier than the othe rider! It's a great machine for riding the trails, and has excellent torque down low to pull up the hills. She ain't pretty, but she sure runs with the best of them! I now have black fenders, which don't help it look better, but at least they aren't dried out or cracked like the originals!
I look forward to getting my Tri-Z up and running, so I can tear the air-fooler down and do it like it deserves. I don't think I will ever get rid of this ride! I have ridden both up and down some hills that scared the crap out of me, and the quads couldn't make it.

The intake is a 85 fl350 and it works well but when the carb is in place it gave me cable problems so i made an angled hole in the side of the top frame tube under my gas tank, and another directly above where the cable came out of the carb, then i ran a rubber sleeve through between the two and ran the cable directly through.
Alot of work but now it works perfectly..here are some pics.

The only thing to worry about is if it angles toward the exhaust .
I have an 84r.
I'm in the process of changing the rear axle bearings.
When I bought it, it was missing the front brake, but from what I'm told it has the 65/86 front shocks, and I've just installed a 85/86 front brake assembly. Besides these lil things the engine has tons for compression, and pulls realy strong.
I've also put in a New Uni Filter, and am freshening it up while I fix the bearings.
It's currently forsale.
The pic on the trailer is when I brought her home.
The pic driving through the mud/water was limping home after blowing my rear axle bearings on a 50km ride through the forest/mud/everything you could think of. (the bike ran and performed better than I could ever imagine)
Last pic is my brother sitting in a water/mud bog, after getting the rear end hung up on a tree, and coating himself in mud.

hahahaaa you lost me
the CR exhaust is on the right side and the carb is angled to the left. My R's exahuast is on the left side, right where the carb is going to be with the CR boot. I'll have to think of something to make it work.

I have a 83,pretty much stock for now.I have installed a differen't silencer on it.
I have bought a 300 kit for it off of flea bay, even located a new piston, etc
then I bought another 300 kit off of flea bay so I could have a spare...
thought I might try running it with alky...
that is my son sitting on it....he rides it more than I do...LOL
he doesn't even ride his 4wheeler or dirt bikes anymore...

Some how I missed this posting from 3 weeks ago so thanks for reviving it again Jarrod, and thanks TtownJoeShow for starting it.
Lots of nice ones on so far and noticed water cooled ones just smother us on the # count, far more H2oer's the air fooled, but I like it that way.
Well here is mine that I bought this winter and frankly I didn't ride it much at all yet. Just starting to fix it up to my taste now but this is exactly the way I bought it as shown. It was an original owner job and the guy has been a Honda mechanic for 20-25 years now.
It has the 300 Kit (5 hours on top end), reed block spacer, boyesen reeds, braided steel brake hose's,steering damper, 38 mikuni, DG pipe and silincer, 2.5 full fairings, rear fender extenders for mud, twist throttle (that's coming off) , pro wedge tires + all the other parts you see .........

A few more yet .............
Just remembered it also has a rewound stator for higer output lighting, 200X rectifier (on lower triple clamp) so I don't blow the lights and a heavier flywheel .
