Yes, that is a bit pricey. I paid $250 for my frame to be blasted and coated but they had to remove some broken bolts and an old bearing race. You should be able to find someone to do it cheaper. The going rate in my area is about $200.

I paid around $300 total for blasting and powder coating. That also included around 2 full milk crates of smaller parts.

That is most definently a bad price.

why powdercoat? if it chips you cant touch it in like paint and its harder to get off if you ever want to change color. i would just blast it and go to your local paint store and for around $15 a can you can have any color paint you want put in to a spray can.

You bring up a good point and I wish I would of held off on the PC. It sure does look pretty though! :D

One way to save on powdercoating is to blast or remove as much of the original paint as possible. They are basically charging you an hourly rate to do the work, and the material for the powder. If you can cut down on the work that they have to do, it will be a very good investment!

well if your doin the 240 blaster conversion it sounds to me like your gonna ride it. dont powdercoat if you plan to ride a whole lot. paint it so if you happen to get chips you can touch them in and removle will be alot easier.

I use the eastwood pro hot coat kit. Its one of the best investments i ever made. It runs about $600. Get your self a nice used electric range and go to town. I use a radiant lamp to do the frames and monitor temp with a small raytek thermometer. Powder is cheap and the finish looks great. And if you are chiping powder you must be hitting it hard or your powder guy does a shi!t job and uses junk powder with polyester. Powder coat is all in the prep work. Blast it up real nice and go to town.
