alright latly ive been having some jetting problems, i have a 84 200x with a webb cam and high comp piston and a super trapp pipe, I went up on my main jet a few sizes and it was to rich, my plug was really black, so i went down a size same thing, and went down one more size and the same thing again, so i decided to try the stock size jet and it started right up, and with the other jets it took a couple more kicks, anyways seamed to be good, but i figured it was going to be lean becuase it the stock size jet and i have a pipe on it, anways i went for a ride today and when i got back i parked it, and about 1 hour later I tried to fire it up and I had to keep kicking it alot of times, like 20, so I checked the plug and it was all black again, stock main is a 108 isnt it? what would be causing it to turn black??? sorry I made it so long,

yea its a 108. so is it coming out wet too? or just black ? if its dry black it could be cabon fouled if so it can be caused by one of the fallowing. too cold of a plug, weak coil, dirty air filter, too rich of fuel/air mixture, or excessive idling.

well i think its dry black, it is alittle wet but i think its just the normal amount, can i test my coil at all with something, and the plug im running is the reccomended one in my owners manual, if I remember right I think its a dr8es-l? And how would i change my fuel-air mix, is it the screw on the carb, not the idling one, I do have it idle when I get ready and i let it warm up alittle bit before i ride so I dont know if thats cousin it, but once the plug is black, its a pain to start

yea the other screw on the bottom back side of the carb. turn it out a 1/4 turn that will lean it out a bit. did your plugs burn good before the mods ? if the burned normal before the mods your coil should be ok.

its not likely to be the coil. it could be the airfilter has to much oil on it.
the main jet shouldnt effect starting or lower speeds.

is there a pin in the throttle stop? is so their may be notches to the pin? if so then try adjsuting the pin up from it's current position. (moving the eclip to like 2nd from the end, vs. 3 or 4.

I'm not faimular with the "trikes" much, but I do crew cheif for a karting raceing team that use a rotax 2cyc motor, so I have lots of tunign expirence with 2 cycle motors and jetting. It depends on how the adjustments are made and where they can be made.

I also have been building and racing cars for over 23 years so I knwo quite a bit about 4-stroke motors in general. which seems to help me a lot when dealing with these trikes.

I dont think there is a pin, but I am not sure, any body know the answer to that?
