helpp...84 honda 250R

hi, i just reieved a 84 250R from my neighbor for free and i have no information on it. it isnt running right now b/c some things need to be put back on/together. but i am wonder how to hook up the carburater on it. i have the butterfly thing put in and now im just not sure about the 2 vacum line fittings, there is a tube on it coming off the carb now but i dont know where it goes/or what its for. i only see one vacum fitting on the engine block. i am new to 3 wheelers so any help getting this one running would be a great help..thanks.

those are vents. they don't hookup to anything. The other one (pointing up) will be for the gasline that runs off the tank.

thanks, that online manual helps alot...........but what is the correct way to start it...what is that little black adjustable vavle/handle on top of the carb do?

THATS the choke.....and u start it in neutral...with the kick starter lol

Have you ever owned a 2-stroke? You should do some reading up on jetting, and fuel mixture. Do a little searching on the boards, it can really help you learn how to tune your bike up.

These pingers can be tempermental. The wrong mixture, or jetting and your engine is dead!

the scrader valve on the top of the fork is to let air out, dont put air in, best thing you can do is take it to a cycle shop and let a good mechanic try to start it for you, if you dont use the correct oil in the gas for premix or at the right ratio, you can ruin it before even knowing it.

nice free bee!!! welcome to the boards!! i noticed that you think its earlier than a 83...but by the looks of it it either an 83 or 84, just by the forks and frame! oh and you shouldn't try to run it without a airfilter! i noticed your airbox is gone...
