ooohhhh yeah very happy this thing is fast fast fast'' it will smoke my lt250r once the front end is planted, jetted that carb went from a 170 main down to a 140 and wow top end is gut wrenching fast.bottom end a little soft but i can change the pilot jet to fix that.i cant believe my t3 is this fast.what power it has.the jetting is important so i will start with what i have now and do plug checks to make sure things are nice.

Hey dig, what carb did you say you're running? A 140 main is small in the Mikuni world. Just curious that I may be too rich, my main is 240 on stock carb and the top end sings real pretty. My pilot needs to be richened up as it is slow to return to idle. Chris

That 170 in the bigger carb? I bet it winds up something sick with the itty bitty PVL flywheel on it. Looks sick man, I've got some cleaning to do on mine before it looks as nice as that.

He must be using a Kehin carb. I've still got a billet jet board for the 38mm A/S Kehin I had on my last R. The jets range from 168-190.
The 38mm flatslide Mikuni I'm about to rebuild will end up with somewhere above a 340 main.

I'm using a 380 main, 38mm TMX.

i dont no what you guys have for carbs but the carb i bought is a 38mm tmx from carb warehouse jetted for my t3, it had a 175 the trike was getting to much gas when you hit it open it would bog i took the plug out and it was to wet with gas.so i tried a 170 did little to nothing for a change so i had some old jets around and threw a 140 in it for the hell with it,man it flys like a plane.the motor has been bored twice and with the dg pipe vforce reeds pvl ignition open filter she sings a sweet tune.its not to rich thats for sure.maybe lean some .a 380 main seems big to me.

Hey dig,
Looking at your pics from a short time ago: You've got a Keihin carb, which is why your main was in the 170's. Did you order a TMX and Carb Parts Warehouse sent you a Keihin?
A Mikuni TM or TMX 38mm flatslide comes with like a 360 main in it. It's just a different way of marking the jets that each company has.

I agree. The carb in the picture is a keihin... 170 would be a tiny jet for a mikuni...

Man I tell ya that thing looks nice! Looks stacked and ready to race.
Dig, did you line the inside of the tank before you painted it or just prep and paint? How much to do a tank for me with more of a match to the Maier green?

Hey dig.
how are you keeping the fenders on? I don't think you are using the 86 fender brace - right. Just wondering.
digity x
04-25-2007, 04:14 PM
2 bolts up front 2 in the middle the seat clamps and theres 2 bolts in the side of the frame that the fender sits on.does not flop to bad .
BigGreenMachine
04-25-2007, 05:51 PM
I made a fender brace from 1/4 inch round stock, keeps them from flapping. I'd recommend doing it Digity since your fenders do droop and you cut out that big section for the kicker weakening them some.

yeah probably make a homemade deal just to hold them.
